EPL: Iwobi wins MOTM in their recent match against West Ham
Everton defeated West Ham 1-0 at Goodison Park to snap a six-game losing streak, and midfielder Alex Iwobi, a Nigerian native, was named Man of the Match.
Neal Maupay scored the game's lone goal for Everton in the first half with the help of the 26-year Iwobi
Everton's last two Premier League goals have both been assisted by Iwobi.
The Toffees' wait for their first league victory in a season was the longest since 2010–11 when they beat West Ham at Goodison Park after a hard-fought triumph.
Since Frank Lampard was hired as Everton's manager, Iwobi has been in excellent form.
The former Arsenal player, who joined The Toffees in 2019, made a point about Lampard's influence on his career during his post-game press conference.
“I’ve always had the mindset that I can try to prove people wrong. The manager has given me faith to do so, and how to express myself as I always do in training.”
