Platforms for Streaming Music
Spotify: Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon created Spotify, a Swedish music streaming and media services company, on April 23, 2006. As of June 2022, it was one of the top music streaming service providers, with over 433 million monthly active users, including 188 million paid members.
Tidal: Tidal is a Norwegian-American music, podcast, and video streaming service that provides audio and music videos. Tidal was founded in 2014 by the Swedish public business Aspiro, which is now majority-owned by Block, Inc., a payment processing corporation based in the United States.
Amazon Music Unlimited: Amazon Music is a music streaming service and online music shop owned and operated by Amazon. Launched in public beta on September 25, 2007, it became the first music store to sell music without digital rights management from the four big music labels as well as numerous independents in January 2008.
Napster: Napster is a Seattle, Washington-based music streaming service. Napster began as an audio search engine called Aladdin, which was purchased by Listen.com in May 2001 and served as the foundation for its new streaming service, Rhapsody, which debuted in December of the same year.
