In recent days, the source codes of Grand Theft Auto 5 were leaked, revealing significant information about GTA 6. According to the newly emerged details, Rockstar Games had planned eight expansion packs (DLC) for GTA 5, but none of them were ever released.

CANCELED GTA 5 DLC PACKS

The leaked source codes by some hackers unveiled eight DLCs aimed at enhancing the single-player experience in Los Santos. Among the expansion packs were "SP Assassination Pack," "SP Manhunt Pack," "Agent Trevor," "Relationship Pack," and "LibertyV DLC."

The content of the expansion packs is currently unknown. However, it is possible to make some speculations based on the names. For instance, the "Agent Trevor" and "Manhunt Pack" seem to suggest a focus on stealth-action stories involving Trevor.

Even more intriguing is the "LibertyV DLC" pack. With this pack, GTA 5 could have brought back the setting of Liberty City from GTA 4. Characters like Niko Bellic might have made an appearance in the new game.

However, it is important to note that Rockstar canceled the eight expansion packs. While the reason remains unclear, it seems that the studio may not have wanted to allocate time to single-player expansions, possibly due to the popularity and lucrative nature of GTA Online.

The company shifted its focus towards multiplayer and next-gen versions after 2017, stating that resources were diverted from DLC due to Red Dead Redemption 2. It remains to be seen what roadmap Rockstar will follow for GTA 6, and only time will reveal the direction they choose to take.
