Another Month, Another Update.
And I have been struggling this month.
Struggling with my health and that caused me to struggle with the game.
For the first time since I started playing in April 2023, I have skipped a day.
And I donยดt know what made me feel worse the virus or not playing.
Anyway quick update on my sales, I did not list anything, I did not update any prices, and still from the 14 cards I had left listed, half of them sold. I really need to make time and start forging again because my shop window looks empty as ....
Show Me The Money
I know itยดs not all about the money, if you want to get rich donยดt P2E just get a job or buy Memecoins but I think it might be a nice addition to do a monthly update on the amount of GODS and ETH in my account. Just to watch the growth in 2024.
So I started Jan with 243 GODS tokens and a little bit of ETH.
Now the ETH did not change and just full disclosure the 243 was in week 1 of Jan so not while writing last month's post but it was the only recorded number of Gods I have atm.
Now I have no clue where the money has gone because 40 GODS in 20+ days sounds lousy. But itยดs probably pretty accurate I did not have the best two weeks while sick.
Now it does feel like I am back this weekend my win rate was bloody good for a noob with still pretty cheap ass deck. I beat peeps with $100 cards over the weekend.
Which makes me wonder if I ever should buy those?
Any thoughts Dear Reader do those $100 cards feel like a game changer?
I mean cards like:
Beat and got beaten by that one this weekend.
And still my All Time Favorite
I actually Beat Jason this weekend, guess the legendary were all stacked at the bottom of the deck. Hence I feel like I am back.
Now last month I said I was gonna change a few things not much, just a little tinkering giving me a bit more power towards the end of the game now that it feels like games are taking longer.
So I think I already told you I would add another Ember Oni as he was Dirt Cheap at 28 GODs and he was, he did not drop like Safemoon and right now he stands at 43 GODS so Go Me.
The price of course is not the main thing, the question is did it help me? Now I canยดt say for sure it did, but I do feel that two Oniยดs are better than one and I did not miss Reconnaissance for a single game.
Now I ended up swapping Professor Murder for A Toast of Plunder.
When I added the Prof back in the day I had high hopes but he kinda disappointed, something I can not say about this Toast. I raise my glass to this card as itยดs been a great addition to my game.
The big benefit is it only takes 5 Mana, so you can still be early playing it and adding 3 additional cards to your deck. Or do a nice little Combo; first destroy a card you want from your opponent with Hunting Trap and then pull it into your Deck with a Toast of Plunder for just 7 Mana.
Now I know these are just words, and feelings...because it felt like I was doing better even though I myself played low-quality games.
Overall my win rate has always been between 44% and 48%, now I never even checked if that is bad, or kinda bad. But I wanted to win more than I lost, that was the aim. So before the upgrade, I was at 46.8%

Yes, it seems I finally did it I have a 53.4% win rate with a $10 deck, now those prices over there on GU Decks IDK.
I mean Ember Oni is $10 and I have two but whatever. Itยดs a cheapish noob deck, and I might have been playing for almost a year I feel like I am just getting started.
Bikini Bottom Line
Do you guys still feel like just getting started, or is that just me?
I mean writing and reading here about GU has taught me some basic stuff, but I still mess up so often and go OMG how could I forget that when I try to remove two strenght from a card that is hidden for example?
On the other hand, I do feel like I am getting better at quickly scanning for sneaky actions to turn things around I previously probably would have overlooked.
So there should definitely be room to move beyond that 53.4% if my fiends would be so kind as to not play my ranks with $200 cards and I don't even want to know how expensive those gold decks are sometimes.
But money clearly ain't everything but it might help:

So I guess itยดs a combi of luck, being sharp, and a bit of investing in a strategic deck within your budget.
The question is how to slowly improve my budget deck over the next four weeks.
First of all, I want to see if a healthier me can keep my win rate going up. Secondly, it feels like my deck is still not perfect, as if it is a little out of balance mid-game. In need of a 3,4, or mana card and the removal of a 1 mana card.

Hope someone can advise me which they would add to their deck and why. Because I am finding this a hard one. And just FYI I said last month I would try to remain at rank 8..... I did not but I just got rank 8 again, lets see how long I last.
