SHEGE:what it means in modern Nigeria society.

SHEGE is a Nigerian term used to describe extreme and unpleasant situations or circumstances. (Example: my eye don see shege today).
In the urban dictionary, SHEGE is said to be Rubbish, a hardship, trials, and tribulations.

I have seen hardship = I have seen Shege.
In Pidgin, it is said to be, I don see shege.

SHEGE is also said to be the unit for measuring SAPA at a point in time. And SAPA over some time is qualified as SHEGE.

The word SHEGE is a Nigerian language, spoken by the Hausas. It is used to describe a person born out of adultery (Bastard). But recently, it is mostly used by people on the Internet to describe intense hardship, unfortunate situations, and tribulations. But in the real sense, SHEGE is a way of describing SAPA that has sat you down to have a conversation with you. (Shege is an intense Sapa). Therefore there is no SHEGE without SAPA.

Many Nigerians both the ones in the country and overseas use these words for fun and to make jokes or avoid billings.

It could be described as “Omo, the shege wen my eye don see today ehn😔, Or The sun beat shege commot for my body today😩”. Therefore don’t be deceived if someone uses the SHEGE/SAPA word for you, they may be joking and they may be serious, in any case, if the latter is the case for that person, don’t be surprised if you COLLECT🤣 from that person. So while you are thinking that it maybe a joke, please be guided😂.

While I was carrying out my research for this article, I found an equation online where a user is trying to express the comprehensiveness of shege compared to sapa.
The equation goes this way👇

Let Sapa = Sp
Let Shege = Shg

Sp is directly proportional to Shg, meaning the higher the Sapa, the higher the Shege you see.
I.e, 
Sp= KShg
Where K = ‘God abeg‘ constant
K = Sp/Shg.

Hence, as long as there’s Sapa, there exists a sufficient amount of God abeg to keep you sane.
