Luka Doncic, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA, was the top scorer in the regular season.
Luka Doncic, the architect of the Dallas Mavericks' success in the American Basketball League's (NBA) Western Conference playoffs after finishing 5th in the Western Conference, was the leading scorer of the season with an average of 33.9 points per game.
Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer, ranked second in assists, efficiency points and most three-point field goals in the regular season. Doncic also scored 73 points in the Mavericks' 148-143 win over the Atlanta Hawks, the most points scored in a game this season. The Slovenian basketball player also ranked 4th on the list of players who scored the most points in a game in NBA history.
Following Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder rounded out the top three in scoring with 30.4 and 30.1 points, respectively.
- HALIBURTON TOPS THE ASSIST CHARTS
Indiana Pacers' all-star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who averaged 10.9 assists per game, took first place in the assists category.
Doncic, the leading scorer, ranked second in assists with an average of 9.8.
Following these two players, Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic ranked third with 9 assists per game.
SABONIS FIRST IN RIBAUNT
Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings finished the season at the top of the list of players with the most rebounds, averaging 13.7 per game.
He was followed by Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves with 12.9 rebounds and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers with 12.6 rebounds.
Jokic, twice named the regular season MVP in his career, finished third in assists and fourth in rebounds (12.4).
WEMBANYAMA LEADS IN THE BLOCK
Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, led the San Antonio Spurs with 3.6 blocks per game.
Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz and Brook Lopez of the Bucks followed Wembanyama with 2.4 blocks per game.
SEASON MARKED BY LEBRON JAMES
LeBron James, the leading player of the Los Angeles Lakers, who qualified for the play-in game as the 8th in the Western Conference with 47 wins and 35 losses this season, left his mark on the season despite his advancing age.
The 39-year-old, who holds many NBA records, averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists throughout the season. James, who holds the records for the NBA player with the most points scored in the regular season and overall (regular season + playoffs), became the first player to surpass the 40,000-point threshold in his successful 21st year in the league.
James also became the only player in NBA history to surpass 40,000 points, 11,000 rebounds and 11,000 assists. James is the only player to average 25 points per game in his 21st season in the NBA.
The veteran also became the first player to record a triple-double in 20 or more seasons in the NBA.
