Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, known for his critical views on cryptocurrency, recently softened his stance on Bitcoin.
In his latest statement in an interview with Fox News (2/21/2024), he acknowledged that BTC, the leading digital currency, is garnering a lot of attention. He noted several interesting incidents surrounding BTC, such as the increasing number of people willing to pay for goods and services with cryptocurrency. He also emphasized the importance of regulation regarding Bitcoin.
"You might have to do some regulation, as you know. But a lot of people are accepting it, and more and more, I see people wanting to pay with 'Bitcoin,' and you see something interesting. So, I can go along with it any way you want," he said.
Despite softening on Bitcoin, Trump remains adamant that he always favors one currency: the United States dollar (USD).

Trump's current view on Bitcoin is clearly different from his stance in 2019. Back then, Trump tweeted that he was "not a fan" of cryptocurrency, stating that cryptocurrency "is not money."
In 2021, Trump also told Fox Business that he saw Bitcoin as a "scam" that affects the value of the US dollar.
"Bitcoin, it just seems like a scam. I don't like it because it's another currency competing against the dollar," he said.
On the other hand, despite his skepticism towards cryptocurrency during his presidency, it is noteworthy that Trump has ventured into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by launching three collections since leaving office.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Trump's comments on cryptocurrency and his actions regarding regulation and digital assets will be closely monitored.
His views not only have the potential to influence his political base but also signal to the financial world how the US can navigate the evolving landscape of digital currencies in the future if he is re-elected president.
Trump is currently leading the race for the presidential nomination from the Republican Party, alongside his Republican Party colleague Nikki Haley.
