FENERBAHÇE (English)

Fenerbahçe Sports Club, which has an important place in Turkish sports history, was founded in Istanbul in 1907. This club, considered one of the pioneers of Turkish football, has achieved great success not only in football but also in many different branches.


The founding story of Fenerbahçe was written by a group of young people led by names such as Ziya Songülen, Necip Okaner, Galip Kulaksızoğlu and Hilmi Bey. On May 3, 1907, these young people came together in the garden of the Naval School in Kadıköy and officially founded the Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
The club takes its name from Fener Burnu in Kadıköy. Fenerbahçe's colors are yellow and dark blue. These colors have been preserved in the club's emblem and jerseys to this day. Fenerbahçe's emblem symbolizes the club's history and its connection with the sea. The colors and emblem strongly reflect the club's identity.


Fenerbahçe's football branch was founded in 1911. The club achieved an impressive rise in Turkish football in a short time. The first official match played against Beylerbeyi in 1911 was Fenerbahçe's first step in the football arena. Over time, the club achieved significant success in the Turkish Football Championship and became one of the leading teams in Turkish football.

Fenerbahçe has made a name for itself not only in Turkey but also in the international arena. He experienced an important turning point in the history of Turkish football, especially by winning the Balkan Cup in 1968. Fenerbahçe also holds the title of being the first club to achieve victory among Turkish teams competing in European cups.
