  • Good question, BUSY.
  • Thank you, BUSY.
  • And what's the answer?
  • How am I supposed to know that?

Hahaha, excellent... both titles are solid time-eaters, and I see a bright future for both. What’s funny is that this isn’t just a battle of games vying for the top MMORPG spot. In the background, there’s a clash of two ecosystems – yes, you guessed it, Ronin vs Immutable.

Because a good MMORPG is all about "gear up with a sword and charge at the monsters."

You know, I’m a gamer. I suspect that if you’re reading this, you’re a gamer too. Gamers are picky, gamers have their own tastes, gamers have too little time to play (ALWAYS)! So, where am I going with this? There’s no way I can play every MMORPG on the market, even if we narrow it down to just the web3 space... I’ve ended up stuck on these two titles.
The other thing is my personal taste. Sure, there might be a good MMORPG set in space (Space Nation, I’m looking at you), but for me, an MMORPG is all about swords, mounts, and a medieval vibe. So, apologies if your favorite game isn’t mentioned here – I’d love to read a few words about it in the comments!

-Pigeons are strange these days

Maybe the reason I’m torn between these two games is that I still can’t decide which ecosystem (Immutable vs Ronin) I like more? I don’t know, maybe you can help me out, as I’ll do my best to neutrally describe the gameplay of both!

Sword, magic and 2D graphics – home

Let’s talk about the visuals, because looks are the most importa... oh wait, it’s money. Can you imagine that in the 21st century, players are still love 2D graphics? I guess it’ll always be like that. While RavenQuest is styled like classic MMORPGs (Margonem, my old love... oh), I’d say Lumiterra balances on the line between 2D and 3D. I wouldn't have expected something so... unusual and addictive to come out of this. So listen up, all the characters (including ours) and monsters in the game are 2D creations, while we move around in a 3D world! Can you imagine that? Neither could I, which is why I had to play it!

"In Lumiterra, if we have the right amount of experience (to upgrade our skill tree), we can be everything at once."

In RavenQuest, we have access to a dark, inaccessible world. We fight bandits and demons in every possible way, as we can choose from small archetypes like assassin, mage, or berserker... But the player won’t encounter a mirror image of their character unless it's under another player’s command, no... we owe this to the fact that as our character levels up, we can decide whether to add, for example, an archer skill tree to our mage archetype. YES! WE CAN MIX ARCHETYPES – up to three archetypes in one character. Holy moly, I can run around as a paladin and drain blood like a blood mage at the same time, it's just ABSURD!

-Let's be honest, the graphics in Witcher 4 aren't groundbreaking, but riding a griffin... LIT

In Lumiterra, we’re dealing with a truly fairytale-like world. Walking traps (yes, those metal ones like the ones for bears), pumpkins with faces, cacti with swords... but don’t be fooled, right after the starting spawn, I ran into some damn thing five times bigger than me, hairy and running straight at me – don’t remember anything after that. Beautiful landscapes, charming characters – and you know what, I didn’t like it at first, but now I do!
Moreover, our development path isn’t tied to archetypes like in RavenQuest. In Lumiterra, if we have the right amount of experience (to upgrade our skill tree), we can be everything at once. Granted, it’s not as exciting as in RavenQuest, where creating a dark knight makes people think "damn, that’s a dark knight... wicked dark as hell" when you walk through the city or use a skill from your tree.

So, what’s the deal... game visuals – Lumiterra, fun from playing a character you've dreamed of – RavenQuest

Kill the rats in the basement, then plant some carrots. Reward: 50 gold coins

Alright, we know our character, we know a bit about the world... so what are we supposed to do in it? Today's games, especially web3 games (I’m not sure about traditional gaming, since I haven’t been there in a while), not only want, but probably must have complex crafting or farming mechanics, and preferably both! I don’t know, I’m not sure if I’m a fan of running my own little house in a game where my main goal is to save the world from a terrible monster.

Maybe this is because developers want to shove as much web3 in as possible, and it has to have some kind of utility in the game. You know, you buy some land, build your little house there, and live a beautiful internet life on your self-purchased land. It has its upsides, because why not? I’m even considering buying some land in RavenQuest... but that’s not the point.

"I've caught myself spending an hour on my farm in RavenQuest"

Of course, crafting and farming are an essential part of the heroes of this article. They are such an integral part that you can put monster hunting aside and focus on the life of a farmer, both in Lumiterra and RavenQuest.

-Tomorrow, I’ll deal with that dragon I promised the king, today I’m in the mood for planting bamboo

And that's not bad! As long as we have a choice, it's not bad. Another fact is that web3 solves this problem, because if you prefer, let’s say, farming in the gameplay, and then you find yourself needing to go into battle but you don’t even have a sword and don’t know how to craft it, you can trade your crops with a player who is in exactly the opposite situation as you, for a sword. But let's get back on topic.

Both in Lumiterra and RavenQuest, by being good at your profession, you earn appropriate XP, allowing you to further develop in that profession, gain boosts, unlock new recipes, and create generally more valuable items for both the market and your character. It works incredibly intuitively. We have our plot, choose a seed, plant it, water it, and harvest it. Then, we use those crops to create more things, and so on endlessly. It can be quite enjoyable, I realize this because I've caught myself spending an hour on my farm in RavenQuest, "buy seeds – plant – water – harvest – make dinner – buy seeds."

In this case, it seems to me that RavenQuest is more developed. The game has separate experience levels for each profession, and there are really quite a few of them, from fisherman to tailor! Meanwhile, Lumiterra only has two separate trees for gathering and farming, which are also very well, but RavenQuest really nailed this aspect.

Beautiful worlds... under construction

On top of that, there are other activities, dungeons, a mount in RavenQuest and taking care of it... capturing and taming monsters in Lumiterra, PvP zones in both games... But one thing we must emphasize is that these are still beta versions of the games, not full releases.

-If I steal a potato from him, will he notice?

The best thing would be for you to check out both games yourself and come back to me with your opinion. It’s impossible to describe both in one article! I can’t do it.

How to play both games? I'll explain right now.

Lumittera - The game is currently in closed beta, so we need to get a key to unlock it. We can do this by leaving our email address and waiting for them to grant us access! We’ll do that here.

RavenQuest - On December 5th, the final testing phase will begin, which is open to everyone! Just download and create an account on this website.

Of course, both games are play-to-earn, so by playing them, we’ll earn cryptocurrency: $LUA (Lumiterra) and $QUEST (RavenQuest). How to maximize profits? That’s a topic for another article. For now, follow my channels on X and BULB. There, I also give you various quick updates on earning cryptocurrencies in games!

What more can I say...

Well, I’ve described maybe just a fraction of both games, and it’s already quite a bit of text... We have two huge MMORPG worlds here, and it’s incredibly exciting that both of these titles belong to our beloved web3games genre! I’ll be honest with you, I’ve spent more time in RavenQuest, but that might be because I’ve only known Lumiterra for a few days! Exactly, that’s the issue with web3 games, we already have titles that can hook you for hours, now the challenge is to bring them out to the public! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for both brands, and this applies to both games as well as Ronin and Immutable!

These games are still in development and already have their own large audiences – RavenQuest was the most popular web3 game on Twitch, while Lumiterra has now seemingly taken over all of X (at least mine, haha). Both titles have their own unique atmosphere. If you're an old-school gamer, you'll appreciate the vibe in RavenQuest, while if you like fairy-tale worlds, Lumiterra is for you. For now, it’s impossible to say which game is better because both are great at what they do. The future looks bright for both, and I’ll be following them, playing them, and keeping you updated.

*Pssst, leave some kind of reaction, any reaction! And if you're looking for information from the play-to-earn world (including additional info about both games above), make sure to follow!
