While reading some of my favourite self-help books, it became commonplace to identify smiling as one of THE MOST beneficial and integral parts of improving all of your life and your relationships.
As you are reading this blog, I want you to smile. Maybe you're sitting on a train, on the couch, in bed or outside... wherever you're reading this, force yourself to smile. It may feel weird at first, but just hold it until you have finished this blog.

Strikingly Contagious

Something that is unconsciously and remarkably contagious and can completely change a being's mood. Anyone to ever exist is seeking happiness. They may see countless frowns or scowls a day but when they are invited into the realm of happiness, they are seldom going to decline. Your smile can be that invitation. It doesn't even have to be seen! While speaking on the phone with long-distance relatives I discovered through trial, that smiling during talking on the phone changed how I spoke. This, in turn, resulted in my enthusiasm being captured through the microphone which they called me out on!

Meeting New People

Studies have proven, that even a fake smile, can activate neuropeptide discharge and subsequently increase your neural communication and neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which lifts your mood. The next time you enter a room, smile, it suggests to people: "they're fun", "they're friendly", "they're successful", "they're pleasant to be around" and "they're attractive"! Soon enough, you will also feel some if not all of those qualities!

Tips

  • Think of something you love as you smile, try to ensure a genuine smile.
  • Set signs and reminders.

The value of a smile at Christmas - Dale Carnegie

It costs nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever, None are so rich they can get along without it, and none so poor but are richer for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and Nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
And if in the last-minute rush of Christmas buying some of our salespeople should be too tired to give you a smile, may we ask you to leave one of yours?
For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give!”

What are your thoughts? Hopefully, you're still smiling ;)
