About the Mitosis Expedition Campaign

Mitosis is a unified liquidity protocol that redefines cross-chain liquidity. Mitosis maximizes conventionally idle cross-chain assets’ utilization and yield potential by imbuing composability to its locked assets.
Liquid restaking tokens (LRT) have the potential to become the next-generation DeFi primitive. In the near future, LRTs must exist in hundreds, if not thousands, of modular rollups. Mitosis is the partner in LRT’s inevitable multi-chain transition.
The Mitosis Expedition campaign is where LRT’s cross-chain expansion begins. Mitosis partnered with the LRT market leader, EtherFi, to spearhead eETH’s multi-chain transition as Expedition’s first companion.

About Expedition Testnet

The Expedition Testnet campaign is a 7-day pre-mainnet program on the Sepolia and Cardona testnets.
More than 300,000 wallet addresses were pre-registered for Expedition Testnet. Check out our latest blog post for more information on Expedition.

Schedule

The Expedition Testnet will last only for 7 days. Participate early, earn Testnet MITO Points, and claim various Expedition Mainnet benefits.

  • Start: 15:00 UTC on March 8th
  • End: 15:00 UTC on March 15th

Epochs and Deposit Thresholds

The program has four stages called Epochs. Each Epoch (except for Epoch 4) has an eETH deposit limit. The next Epoch begins when the previous deposit threshold is reached.

  • Epoch 1: 32,768 eETH
  • Epoch 2: 65,536 eETH
  • Epoch 3: 160,000 eETH
  • Epoch 4: No cap

Testnet Benefits

1. Pre-register benefits

All pre-registered users start the campaign with an extra 0.4 Sepolia eETH. This is separate from the 0.5 eETH all Testnet participants can claim daily on the Expedition Testnet Faucet. All pre-registered users get this headstart with a higher eETH balance to participate.
Also, pre-registered users with EtherFi Loyalty Point balance over 10,000 receive a minimum of 1.41 Sepolia eETH. Registered wallets with higher Loyalty Point balances receive more eETH for Expedition Testnet.

2. General Testnet benefits

Expedition Testnet participants earn Testnet MITO Points by depositing eETH and holding miweETH. Participants can convert their Testnet MITO Points to Mainnet MITO Points. Accumulate your Mainnet MITO Points to gain eligibility for Mitosis governance token airdrops. The Mitosis team will announce the details of MITO Points use cases during the later stages of the Expedition Mainnet.
Expedition Testnet operates a 5-Tier system. Participants can rank up their Tiers by accumulating more Testnet MITO Points. Users with higher Testnet Tiers will be eligible for additional Testnet Tier Boosts during the Expedition Mainnet.

Expedition Testnet Faucet

You need two Sepolia tokens to participate in the campaign: ETH and eETH

  1. Sepolia ETH
  2. Sepolia eETH (0x0305ea0a4b43A12E3d130448E9b4711932231E83)

Deposit eETH into Mitosis to receive miweETH. Hold your miweETH to earn Testnet MITO Points. Sepolia ETH is required for gas fees.

Deposit

Deposit your eETH to start participating in the Expedition Testnet campaign.
How to deposit eETH:

  1. Go to the “Deposit” page on the Expedition website
  2. Connect wallet
  3. Make sure your network is set to Sepolia
  4. Choose the network to deposit and enter your desired amount
  5. Click “Deposit”
  6. Confirm your transaction to proceed
  7. Import miweETH to your wallet
  8. Confirm your miweETH balance and start earning MITO Points

Redeem

Redeem your miweETH anytime to burn miweETH and retrieve the underlying eETH.
How to redeem miweETH:

  1. Go to the “Redeem” page on the Expedition website
  2. Connect wallet
  3. Choose the network to redeem and enter your desired amount
  4. Click “Redeem”
  5. Follow the network switching prompts on your wallet
  6. Confirm your transaction to proceed
  7. Confirm your retrieved eETH balance

Holding miweETH

During the Expedition Testnet, you can either hold your miweETH for Testnet MITO Points or Redeem it. While holding miweETH in any of the four networks earns you Testnet MITO Points, the three L2 networks have a higher Boost multiple than Ethereum. Additionally, each network will have different Epochs and Epoch Boosts based on respective TVL status. Make your own Expedition strategy to maximize your Boost multiple and Testnet MITO Point earnings.
You can’t directly move miweETH cross-chain at the moment. If you want to move your miweETH to another network, you have to redeem it, bridge it, and then deposit it to another network
Bridges: Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon zkEVM
The Mitosis team strongly recommends all Testnet Expedition participants refrain from using the canonical bridges to move miweETH itself. miweETHs bridged using L2 canonical bridges like Arbitrum Bridge will NOT be counted as eligible during the Expedition Testnet campaign.
Using the canonical bridges to transfer your miweETH cross-chain can result in issues including the following:

  • Losing the eligibility to earn MITO points as a miweETH holder
  • Cross-chain transaction costs (i.e., additional gas spent on using the canonical bridges)
  • Waiting for up to seven days for L2 -> Ethereum transfers

Tiers

All Expedition Testnet participants are categorized into 5 Tiers based on the accumulated Testnet MITO Points. Higher Tiers provide more benefits like more Community Redistribution rewards and Expedition Mainnet privileges.

Here’s a summary of the Expedition Testnet Tier system:

  • Bronze: Bottom 30% in Total MITO Points balance
  • Silver: Top 70% in Total MITO Points balance
  • Gold: Top 30% in Total MITO Points balance
  • Platinum: Top 10% in Total MITO Points balance
  • Diamond: Top 2% in Total MITO Points balance

Rules and Policies

  • Users can convert their Testnet MITO Points to Mainnet MITO Points when Expedition Mainnet launches
  • Testnet MITO Points are non-transferable. Users cannot trade or give/receive the Points with each other
  • Holding miweETH is required to earn Points. Redeeming miweETH deducts the Points balance for Community Redistribution (learn more about Community Redistribution)
  • The Mitosis team can nullify or deduct any Points earnings with objectively clear evidence of abusive or malicious actions
