Marquinhos continued to be a key figure for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), contributing both defensively and offensively to the team's success.
He started the season by playing the full 90 minutes in the Trophée des Champions match against Guingamp on 2 August. Despite conceding a penalty kick, Marquinhos showcased his resilience as PSG secured a 2–0 victory, with Salvatore Sirigu saving the penalty shot.
Marquinhos scored his first goal of the season in a 2–0 win against Caen on 24 September, demonstrating his ability in set-piece situations by heading in Javier Pastore's corner.
On 26 March 2015, Marquinhos extended his contract with PSG for another year, committing to the club until 2019. This extension highlighted PSG's ambitious long-term project and reaffirmed Marquinhos' importance to the team.

Throughout the season, Marquinhos played a crucial role in PSG's defensive line, forming part of an all-Brazilian defense alongside Maxwell, Thiago Silva, and David Luiz. His versatility was evident as he occasionally operated as a right-back, showcasing his adaptability and tactical awareness.
One of the standout moments of the season for Marquinhos was his performance in Le Classique against Marseille, where he scored the equalizer in PSG's 3–2 victory.
Marquinhos also played a key role in PSG's domestic cup success, featuring in the 4–0 victory over Bastia in the Coupe de la Ligue. His consistent performances contributed to PSG's impressive unbeaten streak, surpassing a club record previously held by George Weah.
The season culminated in PSG winning their third consecutive league title with a 2–1 victory against Montpellier on 16 May. Marquinhos played a part in the title-clinching match, coming on as a substitute in the final minutes.

Overall, Marquinhos' contributions throughout the season played a significant role in PSG's success, solidifying his position as one of the team's key players and showcasing his potential as a top-class defender.
The 2015–16 season proved to be a challenging one for Marquinhos at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), as he faced stiff competition for a starting position in the team's defense.
PSG began the season on a positive note, securing a 2–0 victory over Lyon in the 2015 Trophée des Champions. However, Marquinhos found himself as an unused substitute in the match, with Serge Aurier starting at right back.

During the summer transfer window, Chelsea made multiple bids for Marquinhos, but PSG rejected them, indicating their desire to retain the talented defender. Despite the interest from other clubs, Marquinhos struggled to secure regular playing time at PSG, primarily due to the established partnership of Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the center of defense.
The situation prompted suggestions from former PSG defender Alex for Marquinhos to consider leaving the club in search of more playing opportunities. Additionally, Thiago Silva criticized the agency representing Marquinhos and David Luiz for potentially limiting Marquinhos' career prospects by having two players of the same position at the same club.

As the season progressed, Marquinhos continued to contribute when given the chance. He scored his first goal of the season on 2 March in a 3–1 victory over Saint-Étienne in the cup quarter-finals, showcasing his ability to contribute offensively despite limited playing time.
Marquinhos played the entirety of important matches for PSG, including the 2016 Coupe de la Ligue Final against Lille on 23 April and the Coupe de France final against Marseille on 21 May. PSG emerged victorious in both finals, securing all four domestic trophies for the second consecutive season.
Despite the success in domestic competitions, Marquinhos' future at PSG remained uncertain, with speculation surrounding a potential departure from the club at the end of the season. However, his professionalism and contributions during the season demonstrated his value to the team, even in a challenging environment.

Marquinhos continued to be a key player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), demonstrating his versatility and defensive prowess.
Marquinhos missed PSG's victory in the 2016 Trophée des Champions in August due to his participation with the Brazil national team at the Olympics. However, upon his return, he was expected to feature more frequently in the PSG lineup, especially after the departure of David Luiz to Chelsea, as noted by ESPN journalist Jonathan Johnson.
His impact was felt on the pitch as he scored his first goal of the season on 26 February 2017, opening the scoring in a resounding 5–1 victory over rivals Marseille. This performance highlighted his importance to the team and coincided with reports of ongoing contract negotiations with PSG.

On 26 April, Marquinhos further showcased his attacking abilities by scoring the final goal in a dominant 5–0 home win over Monaco in the Coupe de France semi-finals. His defensive solidity was also evident throughout the season, as he formed a formidable partnership with Thiago Silva in central defense.
Marquinhos played a crucial role in PSG's success, starting alongside Silva in the Coupe de France final against Angers, which PSG won 1–0. Following the victory, Marquinhos expressed his commitment to the club, stating that there was a "100 percent" chance he would remain at PSG for the following season.
