Solana Unveils Play Solana Gen1 Gaming Console, NFTs Sold Out in Just 1 Minute
Play Solana officially launched the first Web3 gaming console on the Solana platform, along with the Player 1 NFT collection, which "sold out" just 1 minute after opening for sale on Magic Eden.
On September 16, Play Solana officially launched the first handheld gaming console on Solana, the Play Solana Gen1 (PSG1), along with the first series of images of the device's interface.
Inspired by the legendary design of the Gameboy with familiar mechanical buttons, Play Solana not only evokes a sense of familiarity for gamers who were passionate about Gameboy, but also integrates directly with the Web3 wallet, opening the door to the gaming world and exclusive NFT collections in the Solana ecosystem.
In addition, Play Solana also introduced the Player 1 NFT collection. Player 1 NFT owners not only get early access to the device's upcoming pre-order with a discount on the purchase price and a chance to receive future airdrops.
Within 1 minute of the official launch on Magic Eden's Launchpad, all Player 1 NFTs were quickly "sold out". Those who participated in the previous pre-sale on Helio also automatically received Player 1 NFTs in their wallets.
At the time of writing, the floor price of Player 1 NFTs has exceeded 2 SOL (about 280 USD) per NFT.
Information about the upcoming pre-order for PSG1 will be announced at the Solana Breakpoint Conference from September 20 to 21.
This product can be seen as a direct competitor to Sui's Suiplay0x1, which is due to launch in April 2024. In recent times, Sui has made great strides, ambitiously challenging Solana's position in the blockchain industry, making the race between these two layer-1s increasingly fierce.
