Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was born on February 26, 1954 in Istanbul. He graduated from Kasımpaşa Piyale Primary School in 1965 and from Istanbul Imam Hatip High School in 1973. He passed the difference courses exam and received a diploma from Eyüp High School.

Erdoğan studied at Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Commercial Sciences and graduated from this school in 1981. Erdoğan, who preferred a life intertwined with social life and politics since his youth, was interested in football as an amateur between 1969 and 1982, which taught him the importance of disciplined teamwork and team spirit at a very young age. At the same time, these years coincide with the period when Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was interested in national affairs and social problems as a young idealist, stepped into active politics.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who took an active role in the student branches of the National Turkish Student Union during his high school and university years, was elected as the President of the MSP Beyoğlu Youth Branch in 1976 and the President of the MSP Istanbul Youth Branch in the same year. Erdoğan, who continued in these positions until 1980, worked as a consultant and senior manager in the private sector for a while during the September 12 period when political parties were closed. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the local elections of March 27, 1994, accurately diagnosed and produced solutions to the chronic problems of Istanbul, one of the most important metropolises in the world, with his political talent, the importance he gave to teamwork, and his successful management of human resources and financial matters.

The water problem is solved by laying hundreds of kilometers of new pipelines; The garbage problem was solved by establishing the most modern recycling facilities of the period. While the air pollution problem ended with the natural gas transition projects developed during the Erdoğan period, more than 50 bridges, passages and ring roads were built to overcome the city's traffic and transportation dilemma; Many projects were developed that would shed light on the following periods.

Erdoğan, who took extraordinary measures to ensure the correct use of municipal resources and to prevent corruption, largely paid off the debts of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which he took over with a debt of 2 billion dollars, and in the meantime made an investment of 4 billion dollars. Thus, Erdoğan, who broke new ground in Turkey's municipal history, not only set an example for other municipalities, but also gained great trust in the eyes of the public.
