Helium tokens pumped

Good morning/evening

Well a couple of weeks ago something strange happened, Helium (HNT, MOBILE and IOT) tokens were having a green candle moment while the rest of the market was either down or sideways.

If you are not aware we have been in Helium since we could buy a hotspot in Europe . We got carried away and have 17 hotspots between the 3 of us. As we were the first in our area we needed to triangulate in our village and a few other villages. I wrote notes about buying, learning and setting up all these hotspots and they were the first articles I published on Pub0x (not the best articles but the journey was full of ups and downs).

Now my husband and I have not really held any of our IOT tokens now for years, we used them to buy SOL and BTC mainly but I do have to pay attention a little as my son still earns and holds both HNT and IOT (His choice) so when there was day after day of notifications that the price was up, I thought I should pay attention a little and find out what was happening.

After a little research it is the Mobile side that is pulling up the price.

  • The Helium Saga 2 phone pre-orders.
  • Helium with its mobile phone plan and 5G network, has seen a doubling of subscribers since late February, indicating growing adoption.
  • The number of Helium Mobile subscribers, or users of mobile devices or sensors that communicate over the Helium Network, exceeded 100,000 early this month.

There is also the news that Helium is in a beta phase of being a data offload network for more mobile carriers.

The Helium Network is revolutionizing telecommunications by decentralizing data transfer through its Mobile Hotspots. Traditionally, carriers have relied on large, centralized networks requiring significant investment in infrastructure. However, with rising demand for mobile data and decreasing investment in 5G, carriers are seeking more cost-effective solutions. Decentralized networks like Helium's offer an alternative, enabling carriers to offload data and extend coverage without the need for additional infrastructure. This not only reduces costs but also helps carriers maintain reliable service.
Builders play a crucial role in this transition by providing coverage that can be used by both Helium Mobile subscribers and those from other carriers. The Carrier Offload Beta phase is an important step in demonstrating the effectiveness of this approach, with the potential to enhance rewards for builders through increased data transfer. By successfully participating in the beta, builders can help shape the future of telecommunications, making decentralized networks a viable and competitive option for the industry.

With the passage of HIP 129, all Helium Mobile Hotspots will be automatically eligible to participate in the carrier offloading beta periods. Inclusion in any carrier's beta is at the discretion of the carrier. You can see whether your Hotspot has been selected by a carrier to participate in a beta in the Helium Mobile Hotspot Dashboard and opt out of any beta in the Hotspot Dashboard or Builder App.

Even though our hotspots are IOT ones, the price of those tokens have risen with the others, whether this will last or not I have no idea, but the DePin narrative also helps. As for us we will continue to swap out our tokens as and when as I still have no plans to HODL but we will have to wait and see what happens when the ALTs really pump.

What do you think? Is there a future for HNT and Mobile? Can it reach ATH again?
