A broad perspective is needed to understand human history, but we can briefly examine some important periods:
- Early Humans and the Stone Age (2.5 million BC - 3000 BC): The earliest periods in human history date back to the emergence of the first human species such as Homo habilis and Homo erectus. Later, with the Neolithic Revolution, the discovery of agriculture and the transition to settled life occurred.
- Ancient Period (3000 BC - 500 AD): It is a period when civilizations such as Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Sub-Indian Continent and China rose. Greco-Roman culture also left a significant impact during this period.
- Middle Ages (500 A.D. - 1500 A.D.): Begins with the collapse of the Roman Empire. Events such as the feudal system and the Crusades took place in Europe. In addition, the Islamic world, Chinese and Indian civilizations also developed during this period.
- Renaissance (late 14th century - early 17th century): A period of significant revival in art, science and literature. During this period, the invention of the printing press, discoveries and scientific developments took place.
- New Age (16th century - 18th century): This is the period when discoveries and geographical discoveries increased. With the Industrial Revolution, there was a transition to the industrial period.
- Modern Period (late 18th century - 20th century): Important events such as the French Revolution, the American War of Independence, and world wars left their mark on this period. Concepts such as technological developments, democracy and human rights gained strength in this period.
- Contemporary Period (late 20th century - present): Events such as the Cold War, digital revolution, and globalization have shaped this period. Rapid advances in science, technology and communication deeply affect societies around the world.
