EDU Price Goes on a Roller Coaster Due to CZ's First Post After Prison
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has made his first post since being released from prison, updating his current life and future plans. CZ said he will invest heavily in education, as well as focus on his educational project. Thanks to that, the EDU token - an abbreviation for the keyword "education" - has been FOMOed by the community, pushing the price up and down in just 1 hour.
As reported, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has just been released after serving a 4-month prison sentence. After returning to a free life, CZ first sent a "gm" greeting on social network X.
On September 29, CZ expressed his gratitude to his supporters in the past, and shared some of the latest updates about his life.
Specifically, the former CEO of Binance listed a number of tasks that he will do in the near future, including:
- The previously announced Giggle Academy education project, which CZ affirmed will be "an important part of my life in the coming years".
- Continue to invest in decentralized blockchain technology, AI and biotechnology. CZ affirmed that he is a long-term investor, looking for breakthrough projects that benefit society, not investing for profit.
- Spend more time on charity and education. CZ also revealed that he is nurturing bold ideas.
- Finally, quite surprisingly, CZ is pursuing a career in writing books. He has written about 2/3 of the book but has not revealed when it will be published.
Of course, we cannot fail to mention the Binance exchange. CZ commented that Binance is still operating very effectively under the leadership of CEO Richard Teng. That is a great result that any project founder wants to see.
CZ also made an appointment to meet the crypto community at upcoming events and conferences.
Notably, the Open Campus project's EDU token was FOMOed by the community after the Binance founder's post. The reason is that people think that the keyword "edu" (short for education) will be noticed thanks to CZ's recent "shill".
Moreover, Open Campus is a prominent education project today, as well as being both a Binance Launchpad and invested by Binance Labs. According to the community, CZ's release from prison will unlock a new growth wave, Binance will "push" its "homegrown coins" and EDU is definitely among them.
Thanks to that, the price of EDU suddenly increased from $0.65 to $0.73, an increase of more than 12% in just 2 15-minute candles. But then it also decreased just as quickly, currently fluctuating around $0.67.
Of course, the above is just "speculation" of the community so investors need to be careful to avoid FOMO.
