A Child's Mind

The mind, a tricky little fella. An innovative ever learning cognitive and adapting machine. It is fragile yet can house the weight of a thousand thoughts, a billion information and a trillion memories.

My mind is my best friend, the little man on my shoulder telling me where to go and how to do stuff. And oh, what peculiar thought it juggles a pure wonder.

I remember being a child after I had seen the first “Transformers” movie. I had this little toy car my uncle had gotten as a gift and I was running an errand to my mom after the heavens had poured down heavily.

I remember seeing large potholes filled with water on my way and just then I began imagining. I imagined I was tiny, tiny enough to fit in my toy car and driving it at top speed through the wet earth and then into the large pothole of water. I imagined driving through it's depths and a strange car came to tackle me from the side so I stepped on the brakes and the car passed right in front of me to the other side.

And as though that was not enough unrealistic imagination, I imagined my car developing guns from the front and back and began blasting the other car as I continued driving.

The enemy car also developed guns and began shooting at me while on my tail. He managed to land the shot on my window, cracking it and causing water to begin pouring into my car. I sped up as I drove uphill and out of the pothole of water.

And for some reason I imagine the road car was unable to follow me out.

I've always had an active imagination, and books and movies didn't help. In fact, they made it a lot worse. Thankfully though, because they made me who I am today right with a creative mind.
