REGULAR CIRCULAR MOTION
9
Uniform circular motion is the movement of an object that moves around a fixed point with constant linear speed and constant centripetal acceleration. Some materials related to uniform circular motion are:
- Angular velocity (ω): Angular velocity is speed in angular units, which are the units used to measure angles. Angular velocity can be calculated with the formula ω = Δθ/Δt, where Δθ is the change in angle and Δt is the change in time.
- Linear speed (v): Linear speed is speed with unit length per unit time. Linear velocity in uniform circular motion can be calculateddengan rumus v = rω, di mana r adalah jari-jari lingkaran gerak.
- Centripetal acceleration (a): Centripetal acceleration is acceleration that is always directed towards the center of the circle of motion. The magnitude of the centripetal acceleration can bedihitung dengan rumus a = v²/r = rω², di mana v adalah kecepatan linear dan ω adalah kecepatan sudut.
- Period (T): Period is the time required for an object to make one complete rotation in uniform circular motion. The period can be calculated with the formula T = 2πr/v = 2π/ω.
- Frequency (f): Frequency is the number of rotations made by an object in one unit of time. Frequency can be calculated with the formula f = 1/T.
- Central angle (θ): The central angle is the angle traveled by an object in uniform circular motion. The central angle can be calculated with the formula θ = ωt.
In uniform circular motion, the magnitudes of angular velocity, linear velocity and centripetal acceleration are always constant. Meanwhile, the period and frequency depend on the radius of the moving circle and the angular speed.
