Abiodun presents Amusan with a multimillion-naira home and N5 million
Oluwatobi Amusan, the world, Commonwealth, and African 100-meter hurdles champion, would get a monetary incentive of N5 million and a house, according to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun's announcement on Tuesday.
Amusan was also appointed an Ogun State Sports Ambassador by the Governor.
Abiodun added, "So, you (Amusan) will be our Sports Ambassador; I am delighted that you claimed you are not from any other state," in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin. You want to return home because you are from Ogun, not Lagos. We also want to make sure you return home. We want to reassure you that you will have a place to live in the state when you return home.
In light of that, we will also be introducing you to a house in Ijebu-Ode. Additionally, we will give you a modest gift in the form of a donation of N5 million.
Abiodun stated that the Ijebu-Ode Stadium would soon receive the appropriate facelift under his management.
He continued by saying that his administration will hasten the stadium reconstruction as a result of Amusan, the world record holder in the women's 100-meter hurdles, asking to train there any time she visited the nation.
