SocialFi, a ticker for Social Finance that embeds decentralized finance, or simply DeFi, in social media, bringing decentralization in social media platforms. It enables creators to directly monetize their content and interactions. Up to now there are many established and also emerging SocialFi platforms but on this article I am going to focus on Tangled.

Tangled Social

While signing up, Tangled enables you to register with several methods like Google, Twitter/X, Apple or email address.
Upon successful registration, you receive 50,000 millix (mlx)), the native token for Tangled ecosystem. This amount is to star you off on the platform and enable you to post and react with other content.
To post on Tangled costs 10,000 mlx; to comment costs 5,000 mlx; reactions cost 1,000 mlx. There's also a tip-button which enables you to tip content that impress you.

Start Earning

Tangled pays you for literally using the site. The amount earned depends on what device and browser being utilized. For a mobile device user, you earn 20,000 mlx every 25 minutes online. This translates to a maximum of 1,152,000 mlx in 24 hours. This is enabled by Tangled Social mobile app available on Google Playstore and Appstore.
However, the Tangled Browser desktop version is where the real deal is. Using Tangled Social on this browser earns you 100,000 mlx every 25 minutes. This translates to a maximum of 5,760,000 mlx in 24 hours. The browser on itself pays you for every ad that appears at the top column and validating transactions if you have the millix node set up and running.

Views

This is one of the easiest ways to earn on Tangled. Each view earns you 1,000 mlx. The amount of views depends on the number of subscribers and activity on your post.
Your post will also appear on non-subscribers' feeds on "What's new" tab for most recent posts, "Videos" if your post contains a video/s, "Live" tab if you streamed a live session or "Premium" tab if your content requires a fee to be visible.

Comments

Each comment on on your post earns you 5,000mlx. Not only does engagements earn you more millix, they get you more views which translates to, well, more millix!

Premium Content

Tangled Premium enables you to charge a fee for someone to view your content. You can charge anything from 1 mlx to 1,000,000 mlx. You value your content and determine the unlock fee.

Reactions

Every reaction earns you 1,000 mlx. The more interesting your content is, the more you earn from post reactions.

Tips

Anyone can tip your post. The amount one can be tipped is unlimited. So make your content as interesting as possible. It may trigger a 1billion mlx tip!

Activities

Tangled is a vibrant platform thanks to activities created by members. Such activities involve completing simple tasks; for instance a member may ask people to subscribe to his/her profile and receive a tip upon completion. Such activities can be found by searching "#earn" on the search bar.

Referral

Tangled affiliate program earns you commission from your referrals activity. On top of that it pays you 1,000,000 mlx after each referral's successful sign up.
