It Hurts, Not Being Accepted For Who You Are
Good Morning Bulb Family!
Greetings, everyone!
Introduction
We all have unique identities and belong to different families, each carrying our own perspectives on life. That’s perfectly fine. We connect with others, share our stories, and express ourselves openly. But what happens when this open-mindedness turns against us? When our authentic selves, meant to build bridges, ignite someone’s anger instead? What if we face rejection simply for being who we are?
Unfortunately, this is not hypothetical it’s the reality for many. Some of us, have already experienced this criticism firsthand.
But why does this happen? Let’s explore.

Sometimes a Wrong track leads us to a Right path.
It Hurts, Not Being Accepted For Who You Are
Hello, my family. This is your friend, Jawad. How are you all after yesterday’s ramblings? I know some of you spent the day working hard, juggling household chores, or taking orders at the office. Others might have been lounging around, just like me. So yeah, count me in the lazy club too! I was a bit upset yesterday, though I didn’t know why. But now I’m feeling better. Let’s dive into today’s topic.
When you're honest with your true self, and it becomes a problem for someone else, it’s not about you it’s about them. But that doesn’t stop it from making you feel odd or even hurt. It’s painful when people judge you simply for being who you are. Their reactions come from their own imaginary worlds where they decide how to respond, often unfairly.
Take an example: imagine someone works as a clerk. He’s honest and diligent. Now, at a public gathering or ceremony, people find out about his profession. Suddenly, their respect and attitude toward him shift. They no longer see the person but only the label—“clerk.” He hasn’t done anything wrong, but society’s inability to accept his identity leads to hurtful treatment.
This world can be shockingly judgmental. It will easily embrace a criminal with money and power, placing them on a pedestal, while ignoring or demeaning an honest farmer, cobbler, or clerk. The reason? They see such people as simple, with fewer desires, and treat them as insignificant. This hypocrisy is heartbreaking.
If you truly want to understand this pain, look around you. Talk to these hardworking, honest individuals. Their smiles may seem innocent, but the sorrow behind their eyes will tell you everything about the harsh reality they face.
When people act weird after discovering your true self, you’re left with two choices: either accept their criticism or forge your own path. It’s up to you. But let’s be clear—you don’t need to recheck or reexamine who you are. Their perspectives don’t define your worth. What matters is how you see yourself and the love and respect you give to your family and those who value you for who you truly are.
I’ve seen some great posts here about self-acceptance, and they’re spot on. Yes, it hurts when people reject you for being yourself, but you don’t owe them anything. Ignore the critics and stay true to your morals and identity. Why should you change for people who only see your flaws? It’s time to rise above their shallow judgments.
When people fail to accept your true identity, the problem lies with them, not you. It’s okay to feel hurt, but remember, you have the courage to live authentically. That’s something they can’t take away from you. Be proud of who you are, and never compromise on your values for the approval of those who can’t see your worth.
