Discover the Presearch PRE ecosystem

Presearch is creating a decentralized search engine that is driven by the community, for the community, using the PRE token.

Many small companies use Google Ads for their marketing these days, but they don't want to get in trouble with Google. With ShopCity.com, Colin Pape developed a way to link local companies with their customers via an online marketplace.

Pape was a guest on Charlie Shrem's Untold Stories, where he discussed ShopCity's work with local business owners, journalists, and the Mountain View, California, government. The headquarters of Google is located here!

Finally, "We woke up one day in July 2011 to find that all of our websites were miraculously on page 8 of Google." Page 2 doesn't get much attention, if at all. ShopMountainView has been given the death penalty.

For the most part, Pape said, ShopCity was represented by a well-known antitrust lawyer called Gary Reback. Our issue with Google was resolved, but we discovered just how powerful they were in the market and their dominance over the internet."

While working with two other co-founders in 2017, Pape and his co-founders spotted the opportunity to construct an alternative search engine on Ethereum (ETH-USD) that they dubbed Presearch (PRE-USD).

In late 2020, Presearch began on its "testnet." Presearch will be live on "mainnet" tomorrow, with 3.8 million people already signed up. The project provides a search site, Presearch.com, and mobile applications for the iPhone and Google Play, where your searches are secret, and you are rewarded with a PRE coin.

"Google has done a tremendous job from a product standpoint. Many people use Google products and love them; a lack of accountability. A lack of community involvement." says Colin Pape. A lack of participation in the community."

They don't want to disrupt their $250 billion a year monopoly by truly innovating to stay up with the trends. When it comes to search, "there can be various paradigms that aren't going to be investigated because they have a great vested interest in not," As Pape puts it,

As a result, Presearch was founded as a community rather than a typical business. The Presearch widgets are open to anybody who wants to help customize the way the findings are shown.

Google, for example, does not seem to have any information about blockchain technology.

Etherscan, CoinGecko, and CoinMarketCap are just a few of the many resources you'll need to get what you're looking for.

Data from these sources is already integrated into your search results on Presearch. There won't be a lot of ads on the results page.

In addition, the more often you use Presearch, the more PRE coins you earn.

Google has made small gestures like encouraging Web3 developers to adopt Google Cloud to support the crypto future.

After Mark Zuckerberg's disastrous experiment with Libra, adding bitcoin directly into Google looks quite improbable.

Regulators don't want Google or any other major tech company to become involved in the cryptocurrency market.

After all, Google is already engaged in several regulatory disputes.

Presearch, on the other hand, has always run on its cryptocurrency. In addition, the interests of all PRE stakeholders, including users, developers, network operators, and business partners, are all aligned.

But the most important thing to remember is that if you want to advertise on Presearch, you must stake PRE, just as if you're going to run a node (and earn PRE by helping validate network transactions).

To advertise on Presearch's result page for a specific search keyword, you must use Keyword Staking.

The phrase "winner" will be shown in the ad box for the commercial with the most PRE invested behind it. In addition, since marketers don't spend their money, they have greater freedom to experiment with new ideas.

So, as Presearch develops, everyone benefits from the value they generate. Presearch should be able to attract more advertisers and, as a result, greater demand for PRE if it has more users (who receive crypto rewards).

Presearch's business strategy and the usefulness of their crypto were recently covered in Wired's June issue cover piece. What are the chances of this working? No," says the crypto-cynical journalist as far as I can tell. "But it's not a Ponzi scheme," he continues.

Wired quotes Colin Pape as saying, "In theory, that distributed structure should prevent anyone from pushing Presearch in any shady or exploitative directions; if we try to extract too much value from users, they get pissed off, the value of the token goes down."

Although Presearch's governance is not yet decentralized, it has attracted 62,600 node operators who earn PRE coins by verifying blockchain transactions. That's why it's so brilliantly decentralized and expanding all over the globe.

With its concept of a better search and privacy experience, Presearch is truly interesting: Now that the "dress rehearsal" stage has been completed, this project will be one to keep an eye on.
