Last Rain Drops On My Soul

It's the end of autumn now, but in my country, the rain still visits us, so we have rain in autumn too. Last afternoon, when the sky was cloudy, I was sure I would witness the last rain. I was outside at that moment and made up my mind—I didn't want to miss this epic moment. So, I returned home as quickly as possible. I took a shower and asked my mother to make a cup of coffee. I changed my clothes, and in the meantime, the coffee was ready. I took out my chair and went to the side of my pond. The paddy field is just beside my house. I sat down and started sipping my coffee. Oh dear, this was the moment I had been waiting for. The sky was getting darker and darker. Nature was preparing to drench the soil with heavy rain. Suddenly, the breeze picked up, and I said to myself, "This is a moment you should remember. Maybe for the last time, you are witnessing the rain. The pandemic forced you to stay at home, but nature is giving you a chance. Enjoy it, dear. This is the moment."

Feeling the Moment

The moment was magical. I embraced it, truly believing this rain was the last of the season and possibly the last for me too. So, I wanted to feel it—with my flesh, my skin, my soul. Deep in my heart, I just wanted to absorb it. I closed my eyes. The breeze was wonderful. I completely forgot about my coffee. But who cared at that moment, right? Nostalgic memories flashed one by one in my mind.

Rainy Memories of School

During my school days, if it rained, I would drench myself on the way home. I knew my mother would scold me or even beat me, but that was part of the fun. I used a big plastic bag to wrap my school bag, and that was enough. I jumped in every puddle on the road. It didn't feel dirty then, but now I know it was. Surprisingly, I rarely got sick from getting drenched. That’s why I did it again and again.

Present Feelings

Now I am mature. I have seen the ups and downs of life. I have had many happy moments as well as many sad ones. I have seen people make fake promises and then leave me alone. I have been betrayed. I fell in love with a beautiful woman, only to see her cheat on me several times. I forgave her a couple of times until one day, I realized I had learned enough lessons. Now I am free, sharing my feelings with you. No more excuses, no more regrets. The only things that matter in my life are my family and you people.

What would you do in this type of weather? Many people have different options, but I suggest you feel your existence. This is the air. Breathe it in. This is the breeze. Feel it. This is nature. Visualize it for eternity. This is your soul. Let it overcome your pain. Let it go. Let go, my friend. Let go. Shout, scream, cry, laugh... do what you want to. Set your soul free. Mark my words, dear, you will feel light and free. You will feel like you have broken out of the jail where you kept your soul for a very long time. Feel free, dear. You are free now.
