When we move on to Chapter 3, we learn that there are two big rich families in the area. These are the Gray and Braithwaite families. Dutch, who is trying to make a big score, infiltrates one of these families by Hosea and the other by John Marston, causing them to turn against each other, and aims to make the score, steal valuable things and gold and escape from here. The Gray family trap the gang and kill Sean. The Braithwaite family kidnaps John Marston's son Jack. When we try to rescue Jack, we learn that he was last in the hands of an Italian named Angelo Bronte and we make a deal with him and rescue Jack. Due to Bronte's subsequent actions that put the gang in trouble, Dutch captures Bronte. While we expect Dutch to interrogate Bronte, this is not the case; Dutch, somewhat arbitrarily, drowns Bronte in the river. Arthur Morgan, who now sees that Dutch has started to kill arbitrarily or thinks that he has lost control, starts to question Dutch's actions and voices this.

The Van der Linde gang tries to rob a bank in Saint Denis as their last big score. The Pinkerton Agency intervenes, arresting John and killing Hosea and Lenny. Dutch, Arthur, Bill, Javier and Micah manage to escape on a ship and end up on an island called Guarma. Even on this island, they find themselves on an adventure and eventually manage to leave.

Dutch now suspects that there is a mole in the team since The Pinkerton Agency is always there whenever they make a plan. Dutch, who had previously said to Arthur Morgan, "You're like a son to me," makes it clear that he is suspicious of Arhur's behavior lately, saying, "Arthur, you're not the same anymore. You acted outside of what I told you about John.

Who knows what secrets you have!" and now he positions Micah as his right-hand man instead of Arthur. While Arthur is controlling Arthur, who is disturbed by Dutch's actions, constantly saying that he has a plan and killing people out of control, something unexpected happens. Arthur starts coughing, his eyes glaze over and he falls to the ground.

A nearby doctor comes to examine him and gives him very bad news. Arthur has tuberculosis (i.e. tuberculosis), one of the incurable diseases of that period. This scene is one of the most striking moments of the play.

From this point on, things get stranger both for Arthur and for us, the actors who control Arthur. Knowing that he is going to die, Arthur starts to question what he has spent his life for. The things he did for Dutch and his gang seem meaningless to him now, the fact that he always finds himself with the gang instead of the woman he loves, Dutch's increasingly disturbing behavior. These things are starting to occupy his mind more and more. We realize that we are directing a character who will die of illness at any moment in the game and the thoughts in Arthur's head lead us to continue the game as a good character.

Arthur, who saved John as a young boy, gradually begins to counsel John. He points out the senseless actions of the gang and advises him to stop being an indifferent father to his family and to take his wife and son and go away immediately. John, who until this point in the play has been an extremely insignificant and weak character, says to Arthur: "You want me to leave, but what about loyalty? Why are you still here?". Arthur continues to explain that it is for the best, and in the following chapters he often advises John to go and live a good life with his family.

After The Pinkerton Agency begins to harass the Van der Linde gang, some members begin to leave the gang. Dutch is furious, and his subsequent actions begin to undermine the trust of those who believe in him. The biggest problems are Dutch leaving Arthur to die, refusing the offer to rescue Abigail kidnapped by Milton, a member of The Pinkerton Agency, and leaving John to die when he could have saved him.

Arthur Morgan and Sadie Adler rescue Abigail from Milton. Milton is shot in the head and killed (Edgar Ross will be the first name, as we know from the first play).

Back at the camp, Arthur tries to explain to Dutch that Micah is the mole in their midst. Meanwhile, when The Pinkerton Agency arrives to raid the camp, Arthur helps John escape and gives John his hat. With this scene, we realize the value of John's hat in Red Dead Redemption.

Arthur, who is struggling with the disease, falls into Micah's trap. A fight ensues between the two, then Dutch arrives and with his last breath Arthur tries to convince Dutch again that Micah is the mole. Dutch neither joins Micah nor helps Arthur, but turns his back and walks away. Micah, depending on the player's progression, either kills Arthur or leaves him for dead.

And unfortunately Arthur Morgan, the character we've been managing since the beginning of the game, passes away... We also understand the importance of the "wolf" and "deer" that we see in some cutscenes.

A new beginning...

After playing about 80% of the game with Arthur Morgan, upon Arthur's death we take control of John Marston. The year is 1907. In this last part of the game we see John's life from now on, as he leaves his old lawless life and tries to buy the farm that his wife wants so much. John Marston, who is trying to earn money like normal people, stops robbing banks and gets a loan from the bank thanks to finding a reliable guarantor to buy the farm his wife wants. (Or is the bank robbing John now :) ) As John leaves the bank, he meets his old friend Uncle from the gang. He then learns that there are other survivors of the gang and finds Charles. These three people build the farm Abigail wants so much. Of course, the lazy Uncle doesn't work much :)

After meeting John Marston, Sadie Adler, we do a few more missions. This time we help the lawmen to find money and catch outlaws.

Having finished the farm, John writes a letter to his wife, Abigail, and his son Jack come to the farm and start living together.

Upon learning that Micah is still alive, Sadie, Charles and John set out to avenge Arthur's death. When they find Micah, Micah calls out "Hello Scarface" to John. At Micah's place, they also encounter Dutch.

Dutch kills Micah there and leaves without saying much.

John returns to the farm again. In the Credits section of the game, we see scenes where Edgar Ross is looking for John everywhere and we understand that he has finally found his new farm and there are connections to the first game. So Red Dead Redemption 2 is connected to the first game, and you already know the story of the first game. It's 1911, Red Dead Redemption starts.
