The Positivity In Discouragement

Discouragement has been an effective tool in dismantling people’s dreams into nothingness. So many people have given up on themselves and on their mission in life with the trivial reason of being discouraged. They have given up on themselves because they were told “ You are too young to do this “, “ so many people have tried that before without any success, so stop wasting your time!” and many other derogatory remarks.
This has been one of the greatest challenges I encountered until I learnt this valuable lesson “ discouragement could be transformed into the best form of encouragement, it all depends on the individual involved“. In essence, truth is a matter of perspective. When you are face with discouraging remarks, why not challenge yourself with them. They say others have tried it without any success, show them that you are unique. You are different from the other persons that failed.
Do not forget

“Thousands of successful people did not achieve success on their first try, but they were not discouraged. They picked themselves up and went back at it with an even stronger, single minded tenacity to achieve their goal“.
-Catherine Pulsifer

So when you are told you cannot achieve that level of success and it seems as though they are right, don’t give up, keep trying, keep pushing because you are more than what they think of you.
One peculiar fact about discouragement is that it comes to people who are special and are almost at the verge of making it. This is why you must face them and not allow them to belittle you. Have this at the tablet of your heart that

“A man can get discouraged many times but he is not a failure until he begins to blame somebody else and stops trying.”
-John Burroughs.

So keep them dumbfounded by showing them that you can make a difference. You are not a failure, so don’t fail yourself, don’t fail your generation and don’t fail God. Keep going because there is more to you than you know.
