AI has been a hot topic these past couple of years. It seems no matter where you look AI is popping up everywhere. A lot of people like to think that AI has already been in our lives through our cell phones and computer when using Siri, Google hello, and Alexa but this is not exactly AI. Well, it is but it isn't, it is a form of conversational AI that helps you with small tasks on your phone. The AI I am referring to is an evolved version that can learn and grow and can help you with a range of different topics and ideas.

In this article we are going to go over the history of AI, how it is being used for content creation, and what the future might hold for this technology. Depending on who controls this technology the world can go in two totally different directions.

If you would like to check out the video version for this article, then check out the video below.

I am also going to go over four of the programs I think are the best to help you in content creation. I think if AI is used correctly, it can be used to amplify our creations. Using AI to add some life to your already created content can be a game changer. One thing I do not like is when AI is just used to create content out of thin air. I am not going to lie, I have tried this a couple times when ChatGPT was first released, and it did not end well. The content became emotionless and took the thrill out of writing and creating. So let us get into the history of AI and how it is evolving faster than any technology known to man. Also, at the end of this article I am going to share one of my favorite tools I use to help me create some of the best AI text to image art I use for my content.

The History of AI

Have you ever wondered how we got to have machines that can talk to us, play games with us, and even drive cars for us? Well, that’s all thanks to artificial intelligence, or AI for short. AI is the science of making computers and systems that can do things that usually need human brains, like thinking, learning, seeing, talking, and making decisions. But how did AI start and how did it become so amazing? Let me tell you a quick story about AI.

The first time someone used the term “artificial intelligence” was in 1956, when a guy named John McCarthy organized a meeting with other smart people at Dartmouth College. They wanted to see if they could make machines that could act like humans. But the idea of making intelligent machines was not new. Even in ancient times, people had stories and myths about artificial creatures that had minds or souls, like the golems or the automata.

The people who really started the science of AI were philosophers, mathematicians, and logicians who tried to figure out how human thinking works. They used symbols and rules to represent and manipulate ideas and facts. Some of the big names in this field were George Boole, Gottlob Frege, Bertrand Russell, Alfred North Whitehead, Kurt Gödel, and Alan Turing. Turing was especially important, because he came up with a way to test if a machine is intelligent, called the Turing test, and he also did a lot of research on what he called “machine intelligence”. He also designed the first computer that could be programmed to do different things, the Automatic Computing Engine, which was the ancestor of modern computers.
The people who followed Turing in the 1950s and 1960s were very excited about the new computers and the possibility of making them intelligent. They made programs that could solve problems, learn, reason, and understand language. Some of the cool things they did were the Logic Theorist, the first program that could prove math stuff; the General Problem Solver, a program that could solve any problem using trial and error; ELIZA, a program that could pretend to be a therapist by using language tricks; and SHRDLU, a program that could move things around in a virtual world by using language and logic.

But AI was not all fun and games. It also had some hard times and challenges in the 1970s and 1980s. The computers were not fast or cheap enough, the problems were too hard or too many, and the AI systems did not have common sense or enough knowledge about the world. These problems made people lose interest and money in AI, and this period is called the “AI winter”. But some people did not give up, and they tried new ways and methods, such as expert systems, neural networks, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation, and new areas of AI, such as computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, and robotics.

Things got better for AI in the 1990s and 2000s, because the computers got more powerful and cheaper, the algorithms and methods got better, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and probabilistic reasoning, and there was a lot of data to use and analyze, called big data. Some of the awesome things that AI did in this time were beating the world chess champion Garry Kasparov with IBM’s Deep Blue in 1997, making self-driving cars, such as Google’s car, winning the Jeopardy, game show with IBM’s Watson in 2011, making digital assistants, such as Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana, and beating the world Go champion Lee Sedol with Google’s AlphaGo in 2016.

AI is still going strong and growing in the 2020s, with new uses and challenges in different fields, such as health care, education, entertainment, finance, security, and social media. AI systems are becoming more smart, flexible, and human-like, but they also raise some questions and issues, such as privacy, bias, responsibility, and trust. The ultimate dream of AI, which is still far and debatable, is to make artificial general intelligence (AGI), which is a machine that can do anything that a human can, and artificial superintelligence (ASI), which is a machine that can do more than any human can.

If you did not notice I used AI to write this whole section. What I did was ask Window’s CoPilot to write a couple paragraphs about the history of AI and to share the links where it got the information. I then asked it to rewrite the info it shared with me while acting as an amateur blogger. I then went through each section and tweaked them a little. It is wild what AI is capable of. I am not saying to go out and just have AI write everything for you. I am saying it is crazy having a technology that can help you find information fast and mold it into an educational part of your creations. AI is going to take the world by storm. I honestly think we have just seen the beginning of this technology.

AI and Content Creation

I have been using AI to create photos and help make my videos stand out a little. For a while I was using AI to help me write my articles. I started to realize that I love writing and enjoy the process of creating and making my thoughts flow. I ended up focusing my energy on AI art creations. I realized that by creating these pictures and kind of molding them together can be used for creating gifs and more interesting content. Instead of having to search for royalty free pictures you can just play around with some prompts and make your own content. Do not get me wrong I love Pixabay and Unsplash but it is awesome to be able to create my own pictures for my content.

Through my journey of finding different AI image generators and text to video platforms, I have come across some gems I think are worth talking about. I am going to go over four of the top platforms I use to create images, music, and videos.

LimeWire

LimeWire is my go-to platform for creating AI pictures and music. Not only is it easy but if you share what you create you can earn their native token called LMWR. To learn more about LimeWire check out the video below.

LimeWire has been extremely helpful when creating photos and finding small sound clips for videos. I am excited to see what the future holds for this platform. I think it is going to be huge in the future. It needs a lot of work do not get me wrong but the platform itself is a smart idea and it is fun to publish art you create using AI and exploring other people's creations.
Once you have followed someone else you can use anything they have created to help you create something similar. It is a great idea, and it will be cool to watch this platform evolve.

Pika

Pika is one of my favorite text/image to video generators. It is easy to use, and the coolest thing is that it has a free tier. The free tier allows you to make a decent number of videos.
If you decide to share the content you make you will have to keep the Pika logo visible on the video. In their terms of service, it goes through all of the sharing information.

Pika stands out because it makes some interesting videos out of your pictures or the prompt you share. I am sure there are better platforms out there but for beginners this is a great way to get accustomed to text to video platforms.

Runway

Runway is one of my favorite platforms to create AI generated videos from text. It comes out with some of the best videos and allows you to let your imagination go crazy. There is a free trial version that allows you to play with the platform. It gives you 100 seconds (about 1 and a half minutes) of video for free. Each video you create is three seconds, but you can extend the videos by four seconds if you like the video. If you would like to learn more about Runway, check out my video at the beginning of this article. This article is to explain why I think these platforms are worth the time but if you want a more in depth look at each one then my video is your best bet. If you would like an even more in depth look at one of these platforms, please leave a comment and I will do my best to make a video for you.

InVideo

InVideo is one of the best places to create entertaining and educational videos made just from your text. You can tell this AI model what you would like the video to be about and how it should go and InVideo will create a video for you with all the information you need and want. I shared one of the videos I made in the video at the beginning of this article. The sky is the limit with this platform and if you use it correctly you can use these videos to amplify what you have already created.

Bing AI
The four platforms I shared above are some of my favorite AI creation tools but there are so many more out there it can be overwhelming. I have one more I want to talk about, and it is called Bing CoPilot. This is a well-known AI platform run by Windows. Not only is this one of the most accurate AI I have used but you can create pictures right in the search. Normally you have to find a website that allows text to image but with Bing you can create them right in your conversation. If you want to skip the conversation part and just jump into creating images, then you can use Image Creator from Microsoft. This is what the AI bot uses when it creates your photos. It is an easy to use and creates some of the best pictures I have seen so far. Not only that but what is cool is that it is free. It also uses ChatGPT-4 for its conversations and image creation. So, if you are looking for a good AI companion that can help you jump start your content creation then Bing should be your first stop.

The Future of AI

Now the future of AI is unknown but from what I am seeing, I have a feeling AI is about to be on every device and be used by everyone big name company you can think of. We are already seeing AI being implemented into browsers, video creating software, blogging platforms, and I believe phones are coming soon. We already have a form of AI on our phones such as Siri but those are the old forms of AI. Things like Siri is just your personal assistant on your phone. It can help you with simple tasks. ChatGPT and others like it can give you information and results, Siri can only help you with small tasks. The new AI is going to learn from our everyday actions and the knowledge it possesses will grow without having to do major updates. The AI that is coming is going to be able to learn and adapt. Imagine an AI helper on your phone that can remind you of events from your text messages and emails and instead of just a pop up asking you if you still want to be reminded you have an actual virtual assistant talking with you, reminding you of things, and explaining everything and can also answer questions and adapt to changes.

I know what you are thinking. This sounds kind of scary. A digital assistant that can go through your phone and collect data and analyze that data. A digital assistant that can learn and grow that will know everything and anything you do online to learn more about you. Yeah, that does sound pretty scary. I am sure there will be a button that allows you to turn it off. Right 🤔😂?

All jokes aside, the future of AI looks promising and world changing. If this technology is in the right hand's humanity can prosper and grow. If the wrong hands get ahead of the AI revolution, then we might be looking at some unknown and scary times ahead.

Final Thoughts

I am a strong believer that AI is the next evolution in content creation. It can help us create faster and allow our content to really stand out. That is if you know how to use it correctly of course. If you use it to just push out endless amounts of garbage, then it will never be able to create amazing things. AI can also be an amazing assistant in your everyday tasks. I know many people are afraid of what AI might become but I am not one of those people. I think AI is going to be a tool that helps humanity evolve faster. AI has been talked about since the early 1950s and we are closer than ever at cracking the code to create a truly mind-blowing artificial intelligence. With the technology we have we will witness some truly magnificent creations in the coming years.
