The Brazilian army continues its air and ground operations to help those affected by the floods.

In a statement made by the Brazilian Civil Defense, it was stated that 13,300 people across the state were taken to shelters and 69,200 people were left homeless. It is estimated that floods and landslides have negatively affected the lives of more than 510 thousand people.
Brazil's Ministry of Defense said more than 7,000 ground vehicles, 2,340 boats and 402 aircraft were supporting the civilian population in search and rescue operations across the state. Footage released by the military showed families and children trapped on the roofs of their homes being rescued by helicopter.
