DESIRE
That intensity of a feeling
That constant gnarling at the back of your ear
Whispering the most uncanny a song
A song that tickles the tip of your earlobe
And tightens your every muscle
That ripples your skin like flapping sheets
Oh I know that feeling, I have felt it too, innumerably
So has anyone and everyone else
It respects all who live no more
Its severity cannot be overstated
In many ways, it does come
Like a man who finds new and more creative techniques
To take that which isn't his
In the end, it is still the same thing
It still has the same name
No matter the cloak and mask it wears
One thing is certain
Desire is the fuel that lays naked on dry grass
Waiting to be ignited
Desire licks off the will the happiness of others
Like a tiger's tongue licking off its prey's flesh
Only a select few are gifted
Or even have the grace to learn
How to keep desire in check
And yes, some...
No, most of our desires need to be put in check
Cause desires run wild
They become delirium when not satisfied
And desires are barely satisfiable
They're just abysmal black holes that exsanguinate all it; desires
If we all did what we wanted, got what we desired
The world would burn.
