Hello, my family. Today, I am not late. I arrived just in time. You noticed the red bell, pressed it, and here I am. So, what do you expect from me? Yes, I know that is our topic today. We need to discuss it, but not in that way. I am not asking what you expect from me; rather, I want to discuss what people expect from you. It's a long list, but I assure you, I will make it short. So let's proceed with today's topic, shall we?

What do you truly desire?

People's Expectations From You

Well, I am here talking about people. Don't judge me before you listen completely. It seems like you all are busy, so let me elaborate now.

People living with you must have expectations from you. Why? Well, you are their close one. Why wouldn't they have expectations from you? But we often fail to understand this. At some point, we start to think it's a burden. As time passes and the world examines us, we begin to understand the necessity and impact of these expectations. We will grow old, and one day, we will have the same expectations from our next generation. This is a common aspect of the human experience. So, what kind of expectations shall we talk about?

Parents' Expectations

I will be out of words and sentences if I try to explain the blessings of parents in our lives. No one can fully describe it. Throughout their lives, they serve us. But what do they expect from us? They expect our respect towards them. They expect the same care they gave us when we were children. They expect good behavior and not to be abandoned in old age homes. I just hate those who do such shameful acts. Let's not go there. A father expects that one day his child will learn to support the family just as he has done for decades. He just wants some rest. A responsible adult child should be able to support the family and stand by the father who has been a warrior for the family. A mother expects that her daughter will grow up and help her in the kitchen. Their dreams are small, but we often fail to fulfill them.

Neighbors' Expectations

A society without neighbors can't be imagined, right? We always feel happy when they greet us warmly. I know you have concerns about their sometimes quarrelsome nature, but my friend, tell me where that doesn't happen. They also have expectations of you. They deeply desire your help when needed. It's your honest duty to visit them and check for their needs. It’s a humble act.

Teachers' Expectations

Do I really need to explain this? I don't think so. We all know what they expected from us, from me, from you. Study, learn, and become someone they can be proud of. That's what they told us, remember? Have we passed this exam? The exam of meeting a teacher's expectations? I don't think so, and I do not blame you for it. Our lives are not the same. We all have chosen different paths. Maybe we haven't qualified for it, or maybe it’s already too late to meet their expectations. But hey, always respect them. They deeply desired it.

Friends' Expectations

More than expectations, they have desires for us. But that’s how their bond with us works. We truly believe in them. Their expectations are genuine and change over time. But some expectations never change. They desire to have a real friendship with you. They never want to make the friendship ordinary. Traveling together, studying together, playing together, or even wanting to get married on the same day as you. Look, someone has a cute smile on their face. Smiling because I mentioned marriage, right? How cute and innocent you look right now!
In the end, I can say that we should try to understand what people actually expect from us, from you. Try to fulfill it. If you can't, just explain the reason. Never break someone's expectations, dear. It hurts a lot.
