The World Is Your Oyster !
A man was muttering while passing through the desert, “What a useless place this is, there is no greenery at all… and how could it be, there is not even a trace of water here.”
As he was moving forward in the hot sand, his anger was also increasing. At last he looked towards the sky and said angrily ;
" Why don't you give water here, God? If there was water here, anyone could grow trees and plants here, and then how beautiful this place would have become !
Then a miracle happens, as soon as he looks down he sees a well in front of him!
He had been coming and going to that area for years but till now he had not seen any well there… He was surprised and ran towards the well… The well was completely filled with water.
He once again looked towards the sky and instead of thanking him for the water, he said, “The water is fine but there should be some way to extract it.”
He said that he saw a rope and a bucket lying next to the well.
Once again he couldn't believe his eyes!
He looked towards the sky with some nervousness and said, “But how will I carry this water?”
Then he felt that someone was touching him from behind, he turned and saw that a camel was standing behind him.
Now the man becomes completely nervous, he feels that he might get trapped in the work of bringing greenery in the desert and this time he starts moving forward with fast steps without even looking at the sky.
He had just taken a few steps when a piece of flying paper came and stuck to him.
It is written on that piece -
I gave you water, bucket and rope…I also gave you the means to carry water, now you have everything you need to make the desert green; Now everything is in your hands !
The man stopped for a moment… but the next moment he moved ahead and the desert never became green.
Friends, many times we blame others when things do not go as per our wish…sometimes we blame the government, sometimes our parents, sometimes the company and sometimes God. But in this blame game, we ignore the important fact that as a human being, we have the power to make all our dreams come true ourselves.
In the beginning it may seem that how is this possible, but just as the person in this story gets all the resources to make the desert green, in the same way we too can get all the resources necessary to achieve our goal if we make efforts.
But the problem is that despite having these resources, most of the people only know how to complain like that man… not to change their world with their hard work. So let us learn from this story today, stop complaining and start changing our world by taking responsibility because " everything is really in your hands "
