Do you have anything against getting or giving things with your left hand

As a Nigerian I was brought up to believe that giving things or collecting things with my left hand was a crime that often lead to being punished. Most times this happened with different people but not my parent I was born a left-handed person but when I went to school during my early days like during my kindergarten days, I had a teacher/teachers who tried to convert me to be right-handed so I ended up being ambidextrous. So, growing up I couldn't place my finger and the exact thing that is wrong with giving or collecting things with your left hand. I've grown up to accept things with my left hand because I consider it's just a part of the body and I consider my left hand to be my most-used hand aka my right hand so I don't see a problem with collecting or giving things with the left hand I just see it as a normal part of the body. So if you know the exact reason why this is a rule, I'd love to know in the comment section.
