Reactive Machines :-

These AI machines/robots (tools/robots) 🤖 are just a task which is given to them and is put into the program inside them, they are capable of doing only that work. No information is collected or stored in these. This means that no one is trained to perform future actions by giving any past data (information). Reactive AI is made to perform very simple tasks only.

Example: IBM’s Deep Blue System and Google’s AlphaGo are great examples of reactive machines.

Limited memory :-

These AI machines or robots perform a little better than reactive machines. Within limited memory AI, we also collect data, enter some information and it can also collect past experience (past experiences or events) but only for a short period of time. Meaning, its data is collected only for a short period of time and it is used only for that reason, hence it is called limited memory.

Example: Self-Driving Cars This is a better example to understand limited memory.

Theory of mind :-

These machines or robots are a little advanced. This theory of mind machine can think like humans and can also understand the emotions of humans very well. We can also understand the thoughts and behavior of humans and can talk to them in the same way. This means, if we are sad it will give us encouraging words, if we are unclear in taking any decision then it will help us look at our situation and find a solution like a human being. That is why this type of AI is called theory of mind.

Example: AI of theory of mind has not been created yet but work on it is still going on.

Self awareness :-

In a way, this is the same concept as Super AI. Self awareness: These are such AI which can develop themselves automatically. Can adapt or change oneself in any situation. It is so powerful that it has its own emotions, thoughts, concepts and self-awareness. They can also make any new thing or machine by themselves. These self-aware AIs are much smarter and more intelligent than humans, that is why they can think beyond humans and invent (research) something new.

Example: AI of self awareness also does not exist at present. Right now this is just a kind of hypothetical concept.

Branches Of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a very big subject, a very big field which aims to provide machines with intelligence like humans. AI that is trained by information can adapt to new information and make decisions like humans. To create a great AI, many technologies are incorporated such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics.

Machine Learning :-

This is a small part of Artificial Intelligence whose purpose is to create computer algorithms which help the computer learn from the available information. Machine learning trains itself from past experiences and takes decisions accordingly. The more we train machines by giving them data or information, the better they work.

There are three types of algorithms in machine learning: –
1. Supervised Learning,
2. Unsupervised Learning and
3. Reinforcement Learning. With the help of these algorithms, we train our device or computer with data.

Neural Networks / Deep Learning

Neural Networks (Neural Networks) which we also call Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) or Simulated Neural Networks (SNNs). We know from its name itself that we have to do deep learning (training) so that AI can understand the information like a human. Deep learning is a part of machine learning.

For example, there are many neurons in the human brain and because of them we are able to learn and take decisions. Similarly, deep learning also has these neurons which help it to learn in detail and take right decisions like humans, that is why it is also called neural networks.

Natural Language Processing :-

It is a program that provides machines or computers with the ability to understand information or language given by humans and respond accordingly. NLP is also a branch of Artificial Intelligence which works to translate all types of inputs and outputs so that an accessible communication can occur.

For example, when someone talks, we first listen to his words, then translate it in our mind, then understand it and only then we respond. So in the same way, when we give input to the computer by writing, speaking or in any other way, the computer translates that information into its own language and then understands it and responds. So this translation is done by Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Computer Visions :-

This is the area of AI that acts as the eyes for any AI tool. Enables computers to recognize and understand objects and people in images and videos. If understood in simple language, if any image or video input is given to AI, then computer vision is used to see and understand it or to understand whatever is around by seeing it.

For example, the face lock in our phone which turns the phone on or off by scanning our eyes is also an example of computer vision. And when we are taking a photo with the camera, our phone automatically recognizes our face and shows a square shaped box, that is also a kind of computer vision.

Robotics :-

It is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that deals with the design, construction, operation and application of robots. Robots are machines that are capable of working on their own. It is designed to function automatically by responding to sensitive inputs that are pre-programmed or in real time.

Robots created by connecting them with AI are already being used in many places. For example, many production companies do repetitive work like moving goods from one place to another or assembly line work. And some consumers are using such robots for household work like cooking, cleaning etc.
