Did you know that Celestia (TIA) founder hacked the USA at the age of 18?
Mustafa Al-Bassam, the founder of Celestia, has recently drawn attention through his social media posts discussing his involvement in cyber attacks during his youth as a member of the hacker group LulzSec.
Notably, at the age of 18, he gained prominence by orchestrating a DDoS attack against the CIA, leading to a short imprisonment for him and his team members.
During that period, they received Bitcoin donations from supporters. Al-Bassam cited Gabriella Coleman's book, "Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy," as a reliable source portraying those events. In a recent statement, Al-Bassam clarified that the CIA incident was a DDoS attack, not a hack.
He also shared that his preferred hacking story involved a cyber attack on the Westboro Baptist Church, undertaken with his team.
These revelations resurfaced in light of Al-Bassam's recent social media activity, where he emphasized that the hacking activities from his youth were nothing new.
His experiences offer insights into the evolving landscape of cybersecurity and hacking culture.
