Are NFT creator royalties necessary?
There's been this debate going on about creator royalties in NFTs and after giving much thought to it, I came up with this.
NFT creators deserve that royalty no matter how it's been put they deserve it. Most artists and designers turn their works to NFTs just so that they can make more out of it than selling it the traditional way. I feel most artists turn their works into NFTs mainly because of this side income (royalties).
It's also a thing of morals, imagine being served by a waiter and not tipping the waiter, its bad especially if said waiter did a fine job/service. Putting it in this scenario, said artist has given you a way to make extra money off what you sold its simple courtesy to say "Take this certain percentage for creating such a masterpiece".
If people have a problem with paying NFT creator royalties, platforms like opensea, magiceden etc, should reduce percentage pay for creator royalties, but they should also bear in mind that many creators will leave or create less thereby affecting said platform.
