Even Stevens ruleset in Splinterlands - is there any effect?

So yeah, it is another week in the Splinterverse and end of season is/was just around the corner. To be honest I got of nothing aware that one could call spectacular. So it is more or less just another week of grinding.
Only news was that it officially got confirmed that in the future Gladiator edition cards will only be burnt to SPS (not DEC anymore). See at the time of writing the most recent Town Hall post for more information.
The ruleset of the week, it is called "Even Stevens". And basically it is that only units with even mana costs (like shown in the ruleset's icon) may be used in this battle.
More detailed the ruleset reads: "Only units with even mana costs may be used.
This rule does not apply to summoners."
Let us look at one of my battles here:

Again it is me without the Earth splinter magic attack setup. ;) Instead I chose fire splinter. And speed!
As we will find out I also made a lot of use of the on-top additional ruleset enabling my melee units to attack from any position. Thanks to this I was able to take my opponent's main (at least first) tank off the board at the beginning of Round 2.
We are in Round 3 already and I also suffered some severe losses, but I also was about to break through my opponent's line of tanks. Only thing was I had not much health left on the field...
Still I scored some good hits and my opponent had even less health (and attack!) remaining on the board than me.
And thus it was a win for team jdike!
Did "Even Stevens" ruleset played a role in it? -Well you cannot really tell for sure. Proofing negative is always hard, I think. However from looking at the course of the battle shown above its immediate effect on the battle was quite limited. However and without doubt "Even Stevens" played a big role in the way that it limited the choice of available units for this battle.
