Unlike modern science, aboriginal cultural science in terms of their practices and possession of knowledge were not theories that were tested with mathematics and scientific basis, they were more or less done through trial and error approaches over the course of thousands of years in their habitancies. As they are mainly local to less resourceful areas of the world, they use whatever they can find in their surroundings to resolve their own problems mainly with the ecosystem they live in. Such ecosystems provide the vegetation that is used for food, cooking and ceremonial purposes.
Over the course of thousands of years, the ecosystems and the species within them are constantly endangered and without any scientific aid at all, they manage to come up with these solutions. A very well known and prominent issue they have dealt with is with fires in the hot and dry seasons. They have combated this through the means of back burning/hazard reduction burns which involves a controlled burning/fire of the surrounding vegetation in the cold and dry months of the year in which the risk of an intense fire is low. This is done to use up the debris/grass that would otherwise just act as a fuel for a raging for in the hot and dry seasons where forest fires are a common risk.
This is just one of many examples of aboriginal cultural practices that have been used over the course of thousands of years through their generations, and is amazing to consider how they have come up with such solutions without any form of scientific aid, equipment or testing.
it teaches the followers of modern scientists and the science community itself that there are more ways to come up with a solution to global issues rather than just through formulas and scientific theories.
