Harry Kane unhappy at Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted that star striker Harry Kane is unhappy with his situation at the club, following a series of poor results and performances.
Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a record-breaking £86.4m deal last summer, has scored 28 goals in 29 appearances for the German champions, but has failed to find the net or register a shot on target in their last two games - a 3-0 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and a 1-0 loss to Lazio in the Champions League.
Tuchel, who replaced Hansi Flick as Bayern boss in January, said that Kane is frustrated with the lack of service he is receiving from his teammates, and that he is not satisfied with how he is being used in the team's system.
"He knows what he's doing and he's not satisfied with the way he's been implemented in games," Tuchel said in a press conference ahead of Bayern's match against Bochum on Sunday. "We're not satisfied with the way things have been going either."
"It's unbelievable how well he can score in training and how he pushes on the team - which is absolutely world class - and how little we have found him in games. I have seldom experienced such a difference in what a player has been able to bring on the pitch in training and on the pitch in actual games."
Tuchel said that he is working on finding a solution to get the best out of Kane, who is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and who has been linked with a move away from Bayern in the summer.
"We have to find ways to bring him into the game more, to create more chances for him, to make him feel more comfortable and confident on the pitch," Tuchel said. "He is a fantastic player and a great leader, and we need him to be at his best if we want to achieve our goals this season."
Bayern, who have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles, are currently five points behind leaders Leverkusen, with 13 games remaining. They also face a tough task to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Lazio in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on March 5.
Tuchel said that he is confident that his team can bounce back from their recent setbacks, and that he has the full support of the club's board and players.
"We are not in a crisis, we are in a challenging situation, but we have the quality and the mentality to overcome it," Tuchel said. "We have the backing of the club and the fans, and we have a strong bond in the dressing room. We are not giving up on anything, we are fighting for every trophy, and we are determined to turn things around."
