Macros
Macronutrients or macros are essential nutrients for our body, which provide energy and ensure the proper functioning of its vital functions. There are 3 of them: Proteins, carbohydrates and lipids.
🍗 Proteins: They allow the construction of muscle mass during training periods, its maintenance and renewal.
💡The right portion depends on body weight and the muscular requirement of physical activity. It is between 1.2 and 2.4 times body weight.
🍚 Carbohydrates: They are the main source of our energy. Their ingestion helps build up energy reserves before exercise and restore them after exercise.
💡During training periods; more starchy foods than vegetables (2/3-1/3). During non-training periods; fewer starchy foods than vegetables (1/3-2/3).
🥑 Lipids: They are necessary for our body. They are the main constituents of cell membranes and therefore ensure their proper functioning and associated organs.
💡Calorie intake from lipids represents approximately 20% of the total daily calories.
