My Psychologist Is Me: A Space To Learn, Grow And Heal From Within.

Tips, reflections and resources on how to take care of your mental health, improve your self-esteem and develop your potential. I do not intend to replace professional help, but rather to complement it and motivate you to be your own psychologist. I hope you like it and that it inspires you.

Asthenia is the generalized state of weakness, physical and mental fatigue in which the person is unable to carry out their daily tasks, without improving with rest. It can be associated with multiple processes of both a physiological, organic, and mental nature. In many cases they derive from convalescent states after a pathological process and the asthenia resolves as the patient returns to his state prior to the process, but in other circumstances there is no apparent associated phenomenon and the diagnosis may be overlooked.

In the field of psychology, asthenia can be a symptom of depression, which is the most common cause of asthenics, representing almost 50% of cases. Depression is characterized by persistent sadness, a loss of interest in usual activities, low self-esteem, and difficulty coping with everyday situations. It requires appropriate professional intervention to overcome it and improve quality of life.

In the field of philosophy, asthenia can be seen as an expression of the lack of meaning or purpose in existence. Some philosophers have reflected on how to find a balance between vital energy and inner wisdom. For example, Socrates stated that "life is a constant exercise" and that "wisdom consists in knowing what to do with what we have." Other philosophers have proposed different ways to overcome asthenia through art, creativity or solidarity.

In the field of creativity, asthenia can be a stimulus to explore new possibilities and express yourself with originality. Creativity is not only an individual capacity, but also a way of relating to the world and to oneself. Creativity can help us free ourselves from social and cultural limitations and find our own path.

In conclusion, asthenic people are a challenge for mental and physical health, but also an opportunity to grow as people. You should not be afraid to face them, but rather seek help when necessary and take advantage of the resources available to overcome them. Asthenia is not a permanent condition, but rather a warning sign that invites us to take better care of ourselves.
