Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, originally from Rize, was born on February 26, 1954, in Kasımpaşa, as the third child of his family. His father was Ahmet Erdoğan and his mother was Tenzile Erdoğan. His father worked as a coastal captain on the sea lines. When his father Ahmet Erdoğan immigrated to Istanbul from Rize's Güneysu district at the age of 13 with his family, they settled in Kasımpaşa district. Tayyip Erdoğan, who was named Recep after his grandfather because he was born in the month of Recep, had 4 more siblings, 3 boys and 1 girl.
A significant part of his life was spent in Kasımpaşa, one of the oldest settlements in Istanbul. He studied primary school at Piyale Paşa Primary School. He graduated from Piyale Pasha Primary School in 1965 and started attending Istanbul Imam Hatip School. Continuing his sports studies, Erdoğan received a transfer offer from Camialtı Sports Club in 1969, when he was 15, and continued his sports activities in this club.
He graduated from Imam Hatip School in 1973. He passed the difference courses exam and received a diploma from Eyüp High School. Then, in the 1973-1974 season, Aksaray Economics and Commerce, which was actually called "Istanbul Tuna School of Economics and Commercial Sciences", was located on Gürani Street, where Vatan Street and Aksaray Street intersect, and was privatized by law on 25 August 1971, after the military coup on 12 March 1971. He enrolled and entered the High School. Although Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's school number is 2443, his student number appears as 8345 on his diploma issued from Marmara University.
Istanbul Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, which opened "Economy", "Business" and "Faculties of Political Sciences" in the 1977-1978 academic year, has some higher schools such as "Aksaray Higher School of Economics and Commerce"; Combined under the name "Faculty of Commercial Sciences". Thus, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan completed his education, which he started at Aksaray School of Economics and Commerce, at the Istanbul Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, Faculty of Commercial Sciences in February 1981. The year after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's graduation, the name of the school was changed to Marmara University with the arrangements made in 1982. By the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 23 March 2012 and numbered 28242, Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was closed and the faculties of Business Administration, Economics and Political Sciences were established instead.
Erdoğan, who took an active role in MTTB student branches during her high school years, started her political life at the age of 22 by being elected as the President of MSP Beyoğlu Youth Branch.
Erdoğan, who was elected as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 1994, was banned from politics and spent 4 months in prison due to the speech he made in Siirt. Erdoğan, who founded the AK Party in 2001, managed to take his party as the first party in 3 general and 3 local elections.

Returning to politics with the establishment of the Welfare Party in 1983, Erdoğan became the Welfare Party Beyoğlu District Chairman in 1984, the Welfare Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman in 1985 and a member of the Welfare Party MKYK.
Erdoğan was tried and sentenced to prison for a poem by Ziya Gökalp that he read while addressing citizens in Siirt on December 12, 1997. Erdogan, who was dismissed from his duty as Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor due to the sentence he received, was imprisoned in Pınarhisar for 4 months.
Erdogan, who formed the 60th government after the AK Party received 46.6 votes in the general elections of 22 July 2007, and the 61st government after receiving 49.8 votes in the general elections held on 12 June 2012, became the Prime Minister for the 3rd time. Thus, Erdoğan managed to increase his vote in the three elections he participated in as the head of his party.
While Erdoğan and the AK Party came first in 3 general and 3 local elections since 2001, two referendums were also held during this period. The success rate was 69 percent in the referendum held on 21 October 2007, led by Erdoğan, and 58 percent in the other referendum held on 12 September 2010.
There is no scientific explanation. However, the citizens who voted for his party in the last 3 elections consider him one of their own, and he always likes to be by the citizens' side.
