Information Technology abbreviated as II is one of the fastest growing industries in today's changing economy.Various types of findings show that individuals belonging to the IT industry earn more money than individuals working in other fields Because many businesses,government,organizationsindustries want to conduct their business and day-to-day operations in less time and in a better way, the term Information Technology is almost always used for computers and computer networks but also includes telephone People working in the television and telecom industries are also included.

According to Wikipedia the term information technology was first used in an article written in Harvard Business Review in 1958.

Any technology through which we obtain information is called information technology. Often the word IT is used for computer based systems.

However,the term technology implies that it is a means for example the goal of riding a bicycle is to reach the destination while the bicycle is a means of transportation.Similarly when we talk about technology we should always remember that it is a means and not an end in itself.Broadly speaking,modern communication and computing technology is applied to create,manage and utilize knowledge.IT generally uses devices such as computers,data storage devices,networks and communication devices.

What is included in information technology?

Information technology includes the following components :-

All computers with a human interface.

All computer connected vehicle devices cannot operate unless they are connected to a computer and computer network.

All voice,video,all devices,some purchased services are helpful in running information technology.

All salaries and benefits for employees whose job description specifically involves technology functions network services,application development,systems administration.

All technology services are provided by sellers and contractors.

Operating Cost of Information Technology.

This includes all costs associated with developing,purchasing,licensing,providing,or maintaining the software.

Agencies may also include other costs.For example an agency may wish to include digital cameras in its budget even though these can be operated stand-alone.Data Entry Personals can also be included.If they are considered part of the technology staff then all these costs can be included.

Specifically,Information Technology means-

They usually specialize in a particular industry while working for a technology firm or in any industry Work in a direct manner like finance or government departments.

4.Information Security Analyst is responsible for testing an organization's computer network security and developing company-wide security best practices.

5.Something to keep in mind is that some of these roles change depending on the size and scope of the company.Much of the daily work in small companies may revolve around relatively mundane things like troubleshooting printers.But with other and larger companies, IT employees have an array of potential focus areas. Some may work as broadly as roles in management and strategic planning while others may focus their roles in areas such as cybersecurity.
