Lies leave you to rot.
Life lived in lies tends to create decay,
Decay that starts within the mind,
And never stays just that way.
The decay spreads and festers,
Consumes and creates dismay.
The rotting isn’t visible until the very last days.
That's when the lies surface,
And they make their final change.
They push people out,
And can even change your face.
Loved ones, friends, and strangers,
They learn of it and keep away.
Lies leave you to rot.
Lies throw it all away.

I would like to state that I have a collection of all of my poems in three published short books as well that you can search and reference or read more of if you'd ever want to. A Gentle Mind on Fire, A Gentle Minds Embers, A Gentle Mind Smoldering.
