What is your drive?
If life were predictable, it would cease to be life, and be without flavor - Eleanor Roosevelt
A huge part of what gives life its meaning is that it does not go on forever. There is a time to be born and a time to die. If we were to live forever, we might end up living carelessly with no specific goals or plans. The fact that life has an expiry date pushes us to set goals, have dreams and try as much as we can to live it to the fullest.
Have you ever thought to yourself why people get up so early so they can start work by 8am?
Why do people workout?
Why make certain decisions that pertain to your life?
You can think of a thousand and one questions to ask, it all boils down to your drive.
What is it we are all hoping to achieve? As our faces are different, so are our needs and desires.
If you look closely, you realize that in the end, we are all working towards finding:
- Happiness
- Money
- Freedom
- Peace
- Joy
- Balance
- Fulfillment
- Confidence
- Stability
- Passion
It could be that you workout because you find joy in staying fit. We explore different career paths because we want to find that one thing we are passionate about. We work because at the end of the day, we need the money to cater for our day to day needs.
It is a new year! Whatever it is that you hope to achieve, whatever it is that drives you to do the things you do, I hope this year and even beyond is kind enough to help you get through it.
