Civilization
Throughout history, urbanism has been defined in different ways based on the interactions observed. It has been defined by looking at the past in different centuries. Therefore, it can be said that every culture and nation defines the framework of urbanism in the light of its own historical past, and that the definitions made by different nations interact with each other. Taking these factors into consideration, it can be said that the concept of urbanism can be defined as a field encompassing the entire discipline of urban and regional planning. When examining the conceptual framework of urbanism, it can be seen that it refers both to the culture of living in the city and to the way of understanding, interpreting, and intervening in the city. This is particularly evident in the different uses of the term in Western languages. In the Anglo-Saxon tradition, where a society understanding based on precedents and a bottom-up approach prevail, urbanism is understood as the way of life in the city and the way of urban living.
