Fake soldier poses as modelling agent, robs victims

The Lagos State Police Command has verified the arrest of Andy Edwards, a fictitious soldier, for allegedly using his position as a modeling agency and soldier to defraud unwary members of the public in the state of their belongings.
In a statement released on Sunday, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, claimed that Edwards often invited women for auditions after assuming the identity of a model agent.
He claimed that the suspect would take advantage of the women's presence at the auditions to steal them of their belongings.
Hundeyin mentioned that one of Edwards' victims had denounced him to the police, and he added that the suspect had been taken into custody by police officers assigned to the investigation.
The Lagos State Police Command's detectives have detained Andy Edwards, 39, a fake Army captain, for armed robbery, according to the PPRO.
The fake soldier, who pretended to be a modeling agent, would bring women for auditions before robbing them at gunpoint of their automobiles and possessions.
After a laborious investigation was conducted after one of his victims claimed that her Lexus RX330 SUV had been robbed, he was ultimately apprehended.
