What is the difference between Project Management and Operation Management ?
(1) Project :

  • Work is temporary (Temporary),It has a definite beginning and end. (Temporary does not mean the duration of the project is short. )
  • It produces unique results. (Unique output), for example: office buildings can be constructed with the same materials and by the same teams. However, each building project remains unique with a different location, different design, different situations, different stakeholders, and so on.
  • Resources on temporary upon-need basis

Example :
Installing Production Line (look to the next photo )

(Photo show a production line on factory )

So , When and how a project ends?

  • Project’s objectives have been achieved
  • Or , When the project is terminated

(2) Operation :

  • Work is not temporary (Ongoing and repetitive)
  • It does not produce unique results. (Similar outputs)
  • Permanent resources

Example :
Producing products after installation of Production line (look to next photo )
(Photo show a foods cans on production line )
