Why Do Good People Always Get Hurt?
There is a saying, why do good people always get hurt?
Quick answer, because they have so much kindness in their hearts and they do not hesitate to give it. They always see the good in everyone and unfortunately, often believe they will be treated the same way.
Unfortunately, bad people are quite drawn to good people - all soft hearted, kind and are often easier to take advantage of, especially those without boundaries.
Like what seemingly better equation than a taker who has no conscience, and a giver who has no restrictions? And not just monetary wise o. Many good people are all round givers. They give their time, resources, emotions, and many more.
The interesting part is these bad people do not just take but use up everything until nothing's left. Then they walk away to their next victim. Only because many sweet people expect differently, believing that they will be treated with as much love and respect in return.
At this point those expectations get crushed, betrayal sets in, and they are left in a hurt place. In reflection, they begin to regret their kindness and wish to get rid of it and wonder whether to stop being good.
Well, if you change who you are because of who they are, you've let them win.
Be good anyway, but keep your guards up. Be aware and more cautious of the fact that not everyone is deserving of your energy. Reserve it for those who are worthy.
Most importantly listen to your instincts, they almost never lie. After all these precaution would you still get hurt? To be honest, yes, because you will never fully know people.
Nevertheless, hold on to your light, keep shining, I wish you wisdom in discernment. --phoenix
