What is Dymension (DYM) Coin?
What is Ymension? dYmension is a multi-layered protocol that serves high-performance blockchains and includes application-specific modular execution environments called RollApps.
It allows anyone to create and deploy a RollApp instance of their blockchain on top of dYmension's settlement layer.
dYmension Hub is known as the base layer of dYmension's settlement layer protocol and is a Proof of Stake (PoS) neutral blockchain that provides utility, security and liquidity for RollApps. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
How dYmension Works
1-Sequential Network Formation: is designed as a permissionless network of RollApps. Deploying RollApps creates 2-tier network effects because RollApps can easily connect not only with each other but also with the entire IBC-enabled ecosystem via dYmension Hub.
2-Easy Deployment: Building a blockchain using dYmension does not come with the front-loading of a network. Developers can easily deploy a decentralized, permissionless and trust-minimized blockchain as if they were running their own isolated application instances. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
3-RollApp Feature: RollApps are independent; that is, they set their own economic and decentralization parameters.
4-Performance Difference: Whereas dApps on general-purpose blockchains such as Ethereum require users to pay gas fees in the network's own coin (e.g., ETH), RollApps pay end-user transaction fees with the application's native token or any other token chosen by the RollApp (e.g., stablecoins). They can also pay with other IBC-enabled tokens or a completely new token for fee collection.
The network uses Blockchain technology with a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism provided by the SDK. The mechanism helps create an intuitive, easy-to-use interface for users and developers by allowing to connect the centralized network layer and the consensus mechanism using the Tendermint software.
Dymension is based on RollApp, uses the Dymension RDK to customize the Rollup Chain and works through Sequencer. Users need to stake DYM coins to execute orders on Sequencer. Dymension Hub uses the Tendermint Core state replication model for transaction confirmation and network connectivity. It offers batch service optimization by creating a hub of interaction between RollApps
