Bridge Wallet
The Bridge Wallet is a secure mobile app that allows users to manage their cryptocurrencies and tokens. It is a non-custodial app, which means that users have full ownership and control of their funds. The Bridge Wallet supports the storage and transactions of various digital currencies, including MPS tokens, ERC20 tokens, and Bitcoin via Rootstock.
The Bridge Wallet is designed to be user-friendly and provides features such as:
- Hierarchical deterministic account generation
- Support for multiple sub-accounts
- The ability to buy, swap and sell from within the wallet
- Standing orders- Set up auto purchases of crypto from your bank, making self-custodial DCA easy.
The Bridge wallet allows users to switch between different blockchains and get involved with their ecosystems. Current blockchains supported are:
- Bitcoin/Bitcoin Lightning Network
- Ethereum/Arbitrum/Base/Optimism/zkSync
- Avalanche
- BNB Chain
- Gnosis Chain
- Polygon
- Rootstock
- Tezos
Thanks to WalletConnect, users are also able to access multiple DeFi applications.
Mt Pelerins Bridge Wallet is also a great way to interact with tokenized assets such as MPS Share-tokens and other digital securities issued on the Bridge Protocol, asset tokenization platform.
Bridge Protocol- Asset Tokenization
The Mt Pelerin Bridge Protocol is designed for the issuance of compliant security tokens, asset-backed tokens, and fiat currency tokens. This protocol enables the tokenization of real-world assets, such as shares, bonds, and real estate, making them more accessible and tradable.
The Bridge Protocol is designed to comply with regulatory requirements and supports a wide range of features, including:
- Voting and dividend distribution
- Asset freezing
- Conditional transferability restrictions
- Conditional rights
- KYC compliance and whitelisting
Mt Pelerin led by example and offered equity in their company in the form of MPS tokens and also tokenized fiat currencies, such as CHF and EUR, making progress towards an on-chain tokenized future.
The Bridge Protocol is a non-custodial framework that allows users to interface with and manage on-chain assets that must comply with compliance rules, such as tokenized securities and shares.
Users can utilize Bridge Protocol to set up and deploy securities on the blockchain to create a security token in minutes. Security tokens can be deployed on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Gnosis Chain and any EVM-compatible blockchain. With Bridge Protocol, users can also re-use previous deployments to minimize gas costs, access quick token configuration, create token lots and schedule token sales.
And because crypto/security regulations are ever-evolving, Bridge Protocol makes it easy for issuers to add or remove rules quickly, comply with multiple jurisdictions and customize their tokenized securities to comply with evolving regulatory requirements.
There are currently 431 live assets using the Bridge Protocol and as we trend more towards the tokenization of securities, it is a trend that is likely to continue.
Bridge Assets
Okay, I know the whole Bridge thing on Mt Pelerin is a bit confusing. The wallet is called the Bridge Wallet, Bridge Protocol is for the tokenization of shares, and users can also bridge assets directly from within the Bridge Wallet or by connecting to their wallet on the Bridge section of the Mt Pelerin site.
Users can Bridge assets across multiple chains in just a few clicks with low fees using their self-custodial wallets, it doesn’t just support the Bridge Wallet.
Bitcoin, as an example, can be swapped for WBTC, BTCB, RBTC, tzBTC or Lightning Sats.
Ethereum, WETH, USDC and USDT can be bridged to Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Gnosis Chain, Optimism, Polygon and zkSync.
Benefits of KYC-Less Transactions
There are many benefits to being able to trade without KYC and despite what the regulators would have you believe, it isn’t just criminals who seek KYC-free trading.
Many believe financial privacy should be a fundamental human right, which is why there are so many advocates for cash, privacy coins, and the self-custody of gold. Many feel that it's nobody's business where and how we spend our money, either online or in the physical world.
It isn’t only the financial freedom aspect of it either, but also the convenience. If someone wants to trade a few dollars worth of Doge, is it really worth the hassle of going through a multi-day KYC and ID verification process?
Here are some of the highlights of trading on Mt Pelerin:
- Enhanced Privacy- KYC-less transactions protect your privacy by eliminating the need to disclose personal information when buying, selling, or swapping cryptocurrencies.
- Faster Transactions- Transactions without KYC are typically faster as they do not require manual verification of your identity.
- Greater Accessibility- KYC-less transactions make it easier for individuals who may not have access to traditional banking services to participate in the cryptocurrency market.
Limits and Considerations
While Mt Pelerin allows for KYC-less transactions under certain limits, it's important to note that higher transaction volumes or suspicious activities may trigger KYC verification requirements. Additionally, some countries or regions may have their own regulations regarding KYC requirements for cryptocurrency transactions.
MPS Shares
In 2018, Mt Pelerin launched MPS shares, the world’s first tokenized shares, offering users the ability to become shareholders and owners of Mt Pelerin Group SA.
Holders of the MPS tokenized shares are given rights such as voting on agenda items, earning dividends, reduced fees, higher free transaction volumes, and boosted earnings on referrals.
Circulating MPS tokens can be transferred without restrictions and are bought and sold on decentralized exchange platforms Sushiswap (xDai), Balancer V2 (Gnosis) and Uniswap V2 (Ethereum)
Shareholders can also have their shares un-tokenized to convert share tokens into bankable shares with a Swiss ISIN code, which can be deposited in a securities account in a bank.
Community Reviews & Customer Support
Mt Pelerin has great reviews on Trust Pilot with an impressive 4.7-star rating with 90% of users giving it 5 stars while the Bridge Wallet has a 4.1-star rating on the App Store and a 3.8-star rating on Google Play.
Stand-out comments are praises for ease of use, convenience and satisfaction with customer support, which is offered in English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.
Support is available via email or a “Contact us” form on the site. A support member typically responds in a timely manner and the team can also be reached via:
Mt Pelerin Review: Conclusion
There is a lot to like here about Mt Pelerin. When they first came across my radar, i was surprised at how relatively unknown they are as they offer a suite of great products and services that aren’t found in many places, and certainly never under one roof.
The key benefit here for the average retail user is the ability to not only buy and swap crypto from directly within the Bridge wallet or other wallets you connect to the Mt Pelerin site without undergoing KYC, but also the ability to actually sell crypto for fiat from directly in the Bridge wallet and cash out to your bank account. This is incredibly convenient, and the fact that Mt Pelerin is fully licensed and regulated in Switzerland adds another level of security and confidence.
Then there is the one-stop Bridging service that allows for bridging multiple assets across multiple blockchains and the Bridge Protocol that allows for the tokenization of securities in a fully trustless manner. We are seeing more companies take this route, such as the Exodus Wallet, which tokenized their shares in 2021. This is a trend we are likely to see increase.
The Mt Pelerin platform is one of the most seamless places to bridge and buy crypto as well. The ability to purchase stablecoins on multiple different L2s and have them deposited into your wallet saves the time and hassle of having to use bridging protocols.
